That was against Fitzroy a couple of weeks ago. Ive seen footage of the striking but not the rough conduct. I believe it puts him over the 16 games threshhold

Strange vision. Rigney clearly belts the bloke from Fitzroy then Rigney goes down looking like he was concussed. Maybe delayed hence why Rigney went at him. Prior to it they’re just standing next to each other pretty relaxed…was hardly in a scuffle.beef wrote:Strange vision. Re: 2025 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6
4th Quarter (15 minutes in) 100:39
Brandon received 10 for striking and 4 for rough conduct (falling on the player after the hit). This has taken a few weeks to finalise for a couple of reasons - firstly was us trying to exhaust every avenue where this doesn't end up in a national dereg.. that became evident quickly was never going to be the case, so the second was negotiating to a degree an early plea to avoid Brandon having to front the tribunal to effectively be told he can never play again, and obviously the emotional impact that goes with that.
Brandon was on 11 games - 1 game meant no more AdFL that was obvious, and was never getting less than 4 games for striking, so really the number of games he received became academic.. our (my) concern is his future, keeping him involved in the club and remaining a mentor for younger lads, plus the potential to coach his son in the future.
Make no mistake, this incident has had a deep impact on Bran and his family.. he knows he ****** up, he hasn't shied away from that, and he's cut up not only about not playing, but the impact his actions have had on Rayner, his own family and the club.
As a club we will remain supportive to him - think what you like, but he's a quality bloke and he is a major reason we have been able to turn things around... end of the day he's a human with feelings who made a mistake and has to live with it.
We have made massive strides forward as a club in recent years, this incident doesn't define us, we will continue to press forward and drive standards / change from within.

The way they both go down, and he walks away as if he's had the stuffing knocked out of him makes that one of the stranger things i've ever seen.

Re: 2025 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6
The spectators didn’t even know what happened. Yep it was a punch but not sure it was worth 16 games. I’ve seen worse get stuff all. The Portland captain a few years ago got 8 or something for more than that. Don’t condone violence on the footy field and he should never have hit, him just not sure it was worth 16.jo172 wrote:The way they both go down, and he walks away as if he's had the stuffing knocked out of him makes that one of the stranger things i've ever seen.

Commendable for being upfront about it Bedge.
But I think there's some sugar coating here.
But despite that, hopefully you can keep him around in an off-field capacity, go send him to get a trainers certificate so he can use his hands for good

Given, however it was not just one mistake if he was sitting on 11 and didn't learn from previous mistakes.he's a human with feelings who made a mistake and has to live with it.

It's like a 5 year old, belts another kid then pretends to be hurt too so that he doesn't get in troublejo172 wrote:The way they both go down, and he walks away as if he's had the stuffing knocked out of him makes that one of the stranger things i've ever seen.

Are you allowed to be involved in a club if you are deregistered by the league?

Was thinking the same thing, could he coach or does the deregistration just cover playing?Brodlach wrote:Are you allowed to be involved in a club if you are deregistered by the league?
If there is genuine remorse then I think it is great that the club is supporting him, many wouldn't.
