I'd couldn't imagine paying for something that's under $10 with my phone. They're the people I look at and think "flog".

I'm also motivated by avoiding the fees for paying by card you get at some places, no matter how small.

Sure, it won't break the bank, but given the choice between paying $12.00 for a beer or $12.27, I'll take $12.00.

Always an internal struggle between paying the extra 1.4% and collecting the qantas points!

I had a staff member ring me at one of our country pools because a lady came in to take a season pass out. The staff member rang me concerned because the lady took a piece of paper out, wrote down the amount with a pen and now thinks that she can pay using it.

After a bit of confusion i asked the staff member does it have any bank logos on it or what not to which the answer was yes. I then explained it was a cheque and yes we can take it. Staff member served the customer then rang me back ten minutes after asking how they can get one of these magic books where they can just write down amounts to pay for things.

About 10 years ago now I was shopping at Rays Outdoors and their eftpos machine was down, so I said I'll go withdraw some cash then, they said no we can still take card payment I was very they pulled out a device like that, scanned my card or something. Got charged about a month later.

No they won't, unless you are moving hundreds of thousands and not declaring it, the ATO aren't interested or even look at bank accounts.

My son's mates are tradies and we get them over to do some odds jobs for us, offer them cash and they all say nah just put it in my account.

Rarely use google these days. ChatGPT provides much more concise answers with better evaluation to pretty much any question I ask.

No they won't, unless you are moving hundreds of thousands and not declaring it, the ATO aren't interested or even look at bank accounts.

They ask for all sorts of proof (ie) its up to you to prove stuff
If they get suss, they can access your banking - with or without you
