You would hope they've been given a deadline, and if they fail to meet that, it's a bye & nine team comp.
However, this is the SFL and strategic decisions ain't their strong suit...

Re: Southern Football League
What juniors? They haven't fielded their own u17 team for 4 years (last year was majority Cove kids who weren't picked), and by all accounts barely have an U15s this year.
They should make them play C grade

Re: Southern Football League
What an absolute joke that is. The fact of the matter if they are just scraping a B grade side together they will finish bottom. May as well play them in the A grade and have the other grades start a little later to cover the B grade match. And still finish bottom in the A grade. At the end of the day. Poor planning of the future of the club a decade ago has caused this. Now eat that humble pie and field the A grade side.Show Time wrote:Hearing that the Shoes are only nominating a B grade, and juniors. Im sure M/Vale, Aldinga, Hackham, OSB in recent times would have loved the option of just fielding a B grade.

The Emus had C grade players playing in their A grade last year, simply got on with it and looked to improve.Dutchy wrote:Im sure M/Vale, Aldinga, Hackham, OSB in recent times would have loved the option of just fielding a B grade.

Re: Southern Football League
They made a GF and fell short and now need to rebuild. Thats football. Shoes players would probably rather get flogged as A graders more than getting belted by slightly less as a B grader.

Their plight goes far beyond a senior team rebuild, this is complete lack of whole club planning, solely focusing on buying A grade flags, which they hilariously failed at.Happytowatchlocal wrote:They made a GF and fell short and now need to rebuild. Re: Southern Football League
What are the rules on the opposing club dropping A grade to play B grade? do they have a certain number of players that can be dropped or is it a free-for-all... Might be a few clubs willing to inflict some serious pain on the Shoes, not saying they don't deserve it, considering the number of players they have poached from other clubs in the SFL.wenchbarwer wrote:Their plight goes far beyond a senior team rebuild, this is complete lack of whole club planning, solely focusing on buying A grade flags, which they hilariously failed at.Happytowatchlocal wrote:They made a GF and fell short and now need to rebuild. Re: Southern Football League
They'll be miles off the top B grade teams anyway, even with the handful of A grade players left there. Wonder how many will even bother playing if B grade is all they're going to offer?Show Time wrote:What are the rules on the opposing club dropping A grade to play B grade? do they have a certain number of players that can be dropped or is it a free-for-all... Besides, bugger playing against that mob as an opposition A grader and get belted for your troubles. They're going to struggle to even exist beyond this year

There’s good people at that club doing their best to keep the Club moving forward
Don’t be so quick to write them off ,there’s a shitload of fight left in the Noarlunga FC

I hope you're right, we all love to beat the Shoes, and I'm certain there's plenty of good people there.Oldman Munga wrote: 129 yrs so far ,survived everything previously thrown at us and we’ll get through this

But, you need players, plain and simple. Just having a B grade team and an U13 team and a heap of good people on the committee is still a fast track to nowhere.

Tough times for alot of clubs. Leagues need to reorganize soon or more clubs will die.

Re: Southern Football League
This shouldn't be the case for SFL clubs, its baffling how clubs are struggling when they are located in one of the fastest growing area's in the state.Happytowatchlocal wrote:Tough times for alot of clubs. Leagues need to reorganize soon or more clubs will die.
If the opposite was the case, as it is in some regional areas, then you can understand it.

Re: Southern Football League
8 of the 10 are doing really well for numbers, quite a few clubs also have teams in the SANFL juniors.Dutchy wrote:This shouldn't be the case for SFL clubs, its baffling how clubs are struggling when they are located in one of the fastest growing area's in the state.Happytowatchlocal wrote:Tough times for alot of clubs. Ironbank are a bit of an anomaly, given they're a small D2 Hills league club, maybe they could get some overflow from Blackwood, but I think the opposite occurs.
The Shoes are right next door to Seaford, it makes no sense at all.
