18 Some Cant 0 1 2112 2254 93.70 0

A few new faces in the top eight for Divvy I but already you can tell from the scoring that this league will be very tightly contested over the year. The match of the round was perennial Div I power ZedForce falling ove the line over the demoted Willies by a mere two points. That's half a Darcy Parish turnover for anyone ever involved in a nailbiter. It was a decent comeback by Herbs'N'Spices who came back from a mile behind to knock off Wheno's Web wile Some Cant's long awaited Divvy I debut ended in tears after being belted by Wild Horne Berry.

The 20th Hogg Premier League season kicked off with two time and reigning premier Captain Who making a big statement with a Hogg high 2450 which left traditional slow starter Mediocre at Best wallowing in the Captain's wake. Hondo once again showed their capacity for good scoring with a comfortable win over Premier newcomer Cowpokes who were shown in no uncertain terms that the Premier League is a step up in class. A few of the big teams did not start so well; FISH were caught out by George and DAISY didn't produce his usual scoring as his DUDS provided an arse win for Poon Army who of course did not deserve it with his dodgy score. Teams like Sharks, Roosters and Mediocre are probably wondering what they have to do when Hammo salutes with a score of under 2200. And no I'm not salty at all that I scored more but lost. ffs.

Three Divvy V sides went large in a round where 17 to 1800 was a par score. HereCome'you never talk abot us'thesuns had a breakthrough win against the highest scoring team in the leauge as the Sunnies posted 1941 to leave the Tiges in the shade. Port Power Champs did even better with a 1977 which buried the backhoes. Docked my Cox was the other side to score well as they racked up a solid percentage booster of last placed Redbacks.

Port had a good win over the Bombers and in Divvy IV the same thing happened as Port Fever carded a frankly ridiculous 2048 to pulvervize Brodlach's Bombers as well. The Ginger Ninjas gave The Heat the chop as Gingernuts won his first game for many rounds after a poor season in Division III last season. Captain X was the culprit there that put The Heat in the cooler. SteveFromGuidance knocked off Pigs Arsenal for their first win while Hogg rookie Paragon secured their first ever victory when they knocked off the Wombats.

18 The Cats 0 2 3864 4233 91.28 0

Quite a few teams got amongst the scoring this week in Divvy III but already Stickers and his The Bye are absolutely flying this season. The Bye sits on top of the ladder scoring nicely so far this season as they murdered Crow Call and gathered some percentage while they were at it. Six teams have cleared out already in Divvy III so it will be interesting to see if they get dragged back over the remainder of the bye rounds.

17 Next to Nicks 0 2 3835 4107 93.38 0
18 Cobras 0 2 3895 4291 90.77 0

It was struggletown in Divvy II with scores down across the board. The only team who had a big week scoring wise was Power Rules who were bottom of the ladder the week before. Power Rules smashed Pigs Arsenal to open thier account and jump off the bottom of the ladder. Last year's Divvy I strugglers have started the season off pretty well with both in the top eight with wycbloods who got on the board after walloping the Wizards. Long time Divvy II side Cobras is dragging the chain a bit so far so young Dale will be looking for a lift soon.

Some Cant has shown they belong with the big boys after they racked up 1959 to clean the Cuckoo's Clock with the highest score of the league. The Kings Army enjoyed a rare victory over Eddieslittleindians who had a poor season last year and haven't started off that well this season either. Last year's gun sides Port-A-Potties and Jays Jocks have backed up already while ZedForce scored bugger all but still managed to win their match.

17 Sharks 0 2 4088 4255 96.08 0
18 Cowpokes 0 2 3954 4207 93.99 0

It was a collective fail by the Premier League this week in SuperCoach as the scores in comparision with the so called lower leagues were all well down. Only Hondo and FISH managed to record a good score with several teams in the league lucky enough to record victories with ordinary scores. Low scoring usually means close matches and in an even comp luck plays a part and my REBCats had their share of luck to defeat Wiggbros by a mere four points. The Dukes managed to score a bit better than the REBCats in their five point win over Captain Who while Mediocre managed a win with a score of only 1690. It looks as though this league has been mindful of the byes with most coaches avoiding some of the high scoring options that might have been selected by lower league coaches. EIther way, we scored **** all.

Quite a few Division V coaches have belied their lowly status with a cracking start to the season. Hampstead Hawks remain unbeaten after they scored the second highest score in the Hogg this week with a more than respectable 1999. Go Tiges have been strong all season and they got back on the winners list with a massive 439 point victory over the previous ladder leaders TooManyChickens who must of had too many donuts. Docked cox are the new top side also unbeaten and another team to score well this week being far too good for West Coast Wonders. The most remarkable result of the week was by perrennial SuperCoach underarchivers Razorbacks scoring a cracking 1924 over our resident yankee backhoes who was the luckless coach on the receiving end. A suprisingly competitive start to this league in 2026.

Port Fever, Glory and Constance have snuck away from the pack after three weeks of Divvy IV action on the weekend. Port Fever managed to maintain thier position with a one point win over the bottom side Benno's Beasts which shows how close this league might be this season with any team a chance on a given day, except for Giants Legends with Keryn's Giants sitting this one out this week. A couple of teams who have traditionally struggled at this level in The Heat and Trades of Glory have got off to a fine start to the season. Heat (The Jellyz last season) have never seriously threatened the top eight of Division IV before while two years ago Glory were stoe motherless on the table before a drop to Division V. The Ginger Ninjas have also rebounded well after their poor season in Divvy III last year. My mob Pigs Arsenal was expect to Boss this league but for the second week running copped the highest score of the round as 5th ranked Hodgey took me to the cleaners. Another highly rated coach accidentally down from Divvy II in Guidance is also a bit wobbly so it's a bit topsy turvy this ladder. Well done Fantasy Virgin for breaking their cherry and I know I use that line every year for that team. One virgin a year now wouldn't that be something. More to come? Probably not actually.

In what is a first in the Hogg Shield, we have a husband and wife team topping their respective Hogg leagues. Here in Divvy III True North (aka Kelly Creation) is top of the ladder while Failed Creation is on top in Divvy II. True North are at the top along with Pigs Arsenal who are somehow up there despite not scoring a lot. The Bye and Hawkers hadn't done much wrong to date in 2026 but the wheels fell off in no uncertain terms during a horror bye round that had no Dogs, Hawks, or Swans. On the flipside, 2025 guns Flys Flagpies finally dusted off their uniforms and turned up to play as they knocked off The Bye. The unlucky teams this week were Adelaide Crows and especially bont who both scored pretty well but didn't get the chocolates, not what you need with Easter coming up. Still, it's too early to panic for anyone, even Youngy who is stone motherless and left behind at the starting gate by the rest.

18 Cobras 0 3 5714 6268 91.16 0

Just like his missus, Failed Creation is on fire and on top of the ladder. The Greedy Guns are keeping pace in a long overdue strong showing at this level after missing the starting gun last season. The teams that went up and the teams that came down are all in the top eight at the moment with the Divvy I boys wycbllods and Crowmag in particular putting in a strong start to the season. Greedy Guns top scored for the week but perhaps the most impressive win was by Cossi who defeated a Persh team that doesn't lose all that many matches these days so a big win for Cossi there. Crowmag was another team that got amongst the scoring as they sank the pre-season top seed with the Ducks not taking flight yet at this stage. Spare a thought for the Cobras who have copped a ridiculous 6268 against him in three weeks. This is the most scored against any one team in the Hogg this season so Dale is due a break on that score this week and beyond.

The Kings Army had gotten themselves into the eight but got smashed this week as they were on the wrong end of a remarkable round of scoring by Jims TigerRoos who racked up 2027 to stun the Cub. It's the kind of win that can kickstart a season seeing as the TigerRoos had endured a rather lengthy losing run at the back of end of last year and the first two games of this season. Jays Jocks and Zedman have the happy knack of of scoring bugger all but winning matches and that's exactly the skill you need to have if you are going to be in a position to audition for the Premier League come August. Both sides undefeated even though they aren't exactly racking up the points at this stage. Chops Clots are usually big scorers but have had trouble winning matches in the past (every league seems to have a side like this) but the Clots are finally rising to the top and if they can make the eight then they could do some real damage later on in the year. It's a bit early for Carlton like oh shit moments but the Willies have been a flop so far not scoring points and not winning matches either. Magpie Mafia struggled through last season and so far it looks like more of the same for Roscoe.

17 Jobby's goat 0 3 5703 6038 94.45 0
18 Cowpokes 0 3 5846 6200 94.29 0

It's been an outstanding start to The Dukes' first ever Premier League campaign as they stand alone undefeated at the top of the table after three rounds. The 2025 Div I champion has made every post a winner so far as Yardstick found out being on the wrong end of a 126 point loss. Hondo was knocked off the top of the ladder by the reigning premier Captain Who as they racked up 1972. Wiggbros hit back from their unlucky loss last week with the top score of the week which left them 101 points to the good on Cowpokes. Poon Army copped a rare loss to their bunny team REBCats who still can't get in the eight while the struggling Sharks managed to open their account and clamber away from the danger zone on the ladder. Down the arse end DAISY hasn't quite got going yet this season but he's too good to hang around down there while jury is out on Jobby who haven't really managed to get a foothold at this level just yet.

Undefeated Docked Cox stand alone after Round 4 as second ranked Hampstead Hawks dropped a nailbiter to Port Power Champs by eight points. Toomanychooks and Rando Crow got back on the winners list but this version of Division V has seen some strange occurences already this season. In previous years Strawb and Razorbacks would go through multiple seasons with one victory between them but this year they are both winning. The backhoes are still last but they carded an impressive 1957 to sink the West Coast Wonders in Strawb's best performance in the Hogg for many years. Meanwhile, Razorbacks have won two straight matches and is only out of the eight on percentage. Another rarity is Red Devils in the top eight but there they sit after they outclassed HereComeTheSuns. Looks like anything goes in Division V this year but Coxy is looking good as Go Tiges are no mugs and Coxy won that one easily.

My quest for taking it easy on these Division IV minnows is gathering apace after undefeated Glory sunk Pigs Arsenal by 21 points in a quality contest. Permstance is looking good after flogging Hodgey and Port Fever stayed on top after proving too good for Paragone. Strong performances also by The Heat who are looking to make the Divvy IV finals for the first time and Star Midfield who squashed Benno's Busts. A couple of teams had the best kinds of wins of all where you score bugger all and still win. It's better to score crap than win than score well and get done and Robsquad and Fantasy Virgin managed did just that with Robsquad in particular rounding up large helpings of lucky bastard pie beating the Bikers by 9 points with his majestic 1667.

It was Ladies Night in Round 4 of Division III with all three female coaches enjoying wins. Kelly Creation is still on top of the ladder as True North stayed in that position after racking up 2006 and crunching Chicken Twisties. Prefer regular myself but crunched they were. Meanwhile, Sarah won the Dream Team derby as she left Freddy boy in the dust after Sarah's version scored 2023 to get the chocolates this Easter. Meanwhile, Mrs Alaska came out of the cold as the The Cats sunk top eight Blighty in a nice trifecta for the Divvy III ladies. The Bye was the star of the round as they topped the scoring and saw off a strong challenge from fellow contender Brad's Rookies. Flagpies, Crow Call and Bont all got important wins to keep them in touch with the eight but next week is a big one for Youngy who has been promoted but has been found wanting at this level so far this season.

While the Creation Nation double act has continued to top the table in Div II and Div III, the big news this week in Division II was an off Broadway match between two teams that had won one match between them in the first three rounds. Pre-season number one seed Ugly Ducklngs and newly named Next to Nicks (aka Professor Crow) had both struggled so far this season but they produced perhaps the match of the bye period in the Hogg this weekend with the Ugly Ducks plucking Nicks (no wonder he's bald) in a top quality 2013 to 2004 shootout. If you are getting 2000 points with 18 guys you've had a bloody good week so Nicks would be spewing to still have the Easter Egg in the W column after four rounds. Teams that did score well and were rewarded with victories included Creation, Trotters, Sauce, Pigs Arsenal, Underbelly, Wizards, Cobwebs, and Cathy so Nicksy must be wondering exactly what he has done to so anger the SuperCoach gods. At least he is not alone though as Cobras are having an absolute mare and Smashed Crab are faring little better.

When Powerball next jackpots I'll be hitting up the Zedman for his numbers based on the events during the early season bye period. ZedForce hardly lived up to their name by not hitting 1900 once during the bye period and I'm sure the man himself was probably factoring in at least one loss during that period after Zed scored heavily in the first round. Instead Zed is a game clear on top of the ladder after somehow winning all three matches and with full squads back on deck it could be time for him to go full Zed! GETOUT says Dave who has been scoring well and is one match behind but with a significant scoring advantage. GETOUT has been a bit of a non factor in Division I play so far but this season he looks primed to challenge with a solid win over newcomer and league caboose Some Cant who really phoned it in this week. The scoring seems a bit light on in this league but that can't be said for a few sides including The Willies who turned up to play this week with a 1986 to sink the luckless Kings Army who have now conceeded two massive scores to bottom four opponents in two rounds. Eddieslittleindians look like they are off their tucker as well but unlike Zed, they haven't been racking up the wins while his scoring has been down.

It's a bit of a logjam at the top of the Premier League this season so it's far too early to be calling it year of the FISH even though Fishy currently leads the table. Perhaps the most consistent of the Premier League teams has been Hondo who has been scoring well each week. No problemos for the Hondominator this week as the Yardstick did not measure up. It's rare air for REBCats who don't grace the top four all that often in recent years as my boys benefited from a rookie error from Cowpokes who did not loop on Serong's 126 last week. Welcome to the NFL rookie. Headbutters topped the league in scoring when the Captain failed to make the spread while George was the boy as the Poon Army lost a high scoring war. Jobby goat's rough trot came to an end with a 200 point win over a struggling DAISY which I'm sure gave Scud plenty of ammunition in interactions between the two this week. The Sharks are on the upswing as they took a big bite out of Wiggy with the Sharks swimming into the top eight and Wigg out.
