I've only seen them twice and that was early in the season so you might know more than me. PHOS are the ones that have really surprised but I still reckon SHOC are a smokey unless they self destruct like last year but with the new coach you'd give the benefit of doubt that he'll hold it together better than Koster did.

My ladder at end of minor round would look something like this

Modbury: looking good at this stage
Phos: Solid all over the ground
Shocs: Great forward line with experence down back
Towns: Golding and hibberd
Raggies: Travis white solid player along with Grossman

Smosh: If cakebread comes back look for a move to the 5. Also if they stay injury free.
uni: Could the holidays damage there changes
scotch: not a bad side just have not improved as they would have liked
PNU: Tell ya next week but jolly and burrows look to be in fine form.
Pembroke: Just dont have the cattle, young side who will challenge sides on there own deck.

Have not seen PNU play as we have them next week. so that could change once we play them.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Everyone's got a Cakebread who might play and help the cause. Just out of interest and excuse my ignorance, who is Cakebread and whats the story. Has he been training, has he been injured, how old etc etc

Don't worry, if SMOSH WL get Cakebread back they are a 5 goal better side. The guy can play and is early 20s.

Is he a recruit or played last year.... IF doesnt sound promising and i doubt IF he comes back he will play enough to make an impact. SMOSH have done well to be around the mark but still dont think they will make the finals or have what it takes to challange the top 2-3

Cakey is a SMOSH Junior so definately not a recuit.

He's a top baseball player so never rolls out at teh start of the season, but had some work done on his shoulder following the baseball season.

Still got plenty of his best mates at SMOSH and will supposedly be out in the next few weeks.

Absolute gun small forward. Ask Raggies about finals last year.

I'll go with this

Modbury - they'd have to go on strike not to finish on top
SHOC
PHOS
Edwardstown
Uni

Athlestone
SMOSH
PNU
Scotch
Pembroke[/quote]

LADDER SELECTION:
Modbury - move the ball extremely well, will be hard to beat in sept
PHOS - good ruckman and on ballers, Story back in the side
SHOC - key targets up fwd hard to match up on
Towns - Will improve 2nd half of the yr
Uni - Dont write them off just yet, will come good
SMOSH - quality side and will have better 2nd half of the yr
Athelstone - have got quality players, depends on who is to come back into the side
Scotch - Heard will make sure they dont get relegated.
PNU - will be unlucky to go down
Pembroke - heard Fritch is going o/s?...not a whole lot of depth

Yep, kicked 5 in the GF. Very hard to keep quiet. Started halfway thru the season last year after returning from OS. Will be a very welcome IN for SMOSH WL :(

Cakebread is a bloke that can really play, however has missed a lot of footy through injury and with shoulder surgery and a fair stint out last year it will take him a long time to get back to his best. Probably unlikely to make a huge impact for a while, however will probably be dangerous come finals time.

The only way the bye could have been at a better time would be if it was three weeks ealier!

Very appreciative of ity down at SMOSH.

Heard our b grade coach has put on 10 kilos of pure alcohol over last week though - he normally works it off pacing up and down the ground.

Will be intersting to see how the week off has impacted on teams.....

Adelaide University v PHOS Camden PHOS should be to strong (is it uni holidays yet)
Edwardstown v Athelstone Tough game but home ground advantage should see them get the points
Sacred Heart OC v Scotch OC SHOC fairly easy
Pembroke OS v Modbury Tough game coming up for the Hawks. Hoodoo game pembroke at pembroke for as long as i can remember
SMOSH West Lakes v Payneham NU SMOSH should have players back and just sneak over the line against an improved PNU which might have had its momentum broken by the week off

a few big games this week

Phos should beat uni by 4 goals.
Towns to beat raggies with hibberd to have a big day.
Shocs to good for scotch, scoth will be in the game till 3qtr time before the class of shocs takes over. D floreani will be in the best again.
Modbury will beat pembroke easy does not matter where they play. Modbury to good to lose this one.
Smosh should beat PNU. Depends if they have players coming back in from injury. Should be a close game with PNU hitting there straps. Big contest with Jolly vs Ralston could decide the game.

IF we get our midfield back, we will win.. if we don't get our midfield back, it could go either way..
