yeah i hate to complain about umpires but with some of the decisions the words comical comes to mind. All said and done now and nothing can change the result. Just showed us where we need to improve as a unit.

FC in regards to injuries we certainly are missing a fair few in the A's and B's but midseason is a good time for this too happen. Would much rather now than in 6 weeks. Fingers crossed we bounce back stronger and better than ever.

Actually, 6 weeks ago would have been an even better time. Its just too close for comfort really..

Modbury can't afford to drop too many more.. not that I think they will though :D

Pretty impressed by some of the Raggies lads, Jared Trish was one of there best i would say took some good grabs and controlled his usually firey temper very well. Modbury could have won it but once again didnt capitalise on there chances. Dont want to take it anything away from Athelstone though. Fought hard for there win.
Once again some interesting words from there coach. The words i want gunning on a stretcher were over heard. To be honest listening to him during the game and quick chat after I dont think i have ever met a worse bloke.

Good win to the Raggies, shame I wasn't there to see it  Sass, could it be that the opposition has finally worked Modbury out? or are your injuries worse than being let on?

Have they peaked too early? SHOC are only a game behind you now..

All including the coach are under the pump to perform in the second half of the season. All sides have injuries yet I think the players available for Modbury should have done the job on Saturday.
Next week 1 plays 2 at Brighton. A loss to Modbury could see them lose top slot and the weeks rest if they end the season second or third. Modbury to me have been pedestrian. In the past they just did enough to get over the line. Well it is obvious from their 1-2loss in the 2nd half that they need to step up their intensity (as their opponents have). No doubt Harro has done a good job to date, however opposing coaches will have done their homework on Modbury and Harro needs to be that one step ahead. This is the pointy end of the season-GAME ON

Juniper and Jed Wilson im pretty sure are inclusions. Thought u guys would have a few in, few handy young players in your squad.
Yeah Senior school is a great deck, can get blustry though so close to the beach - but should be a good game nonetheless.

Just a couple of comments regarding Athesltone v Modbury information quoted...

It was 3.7 to 2.0 at quarter time not 4.7 to 1.0. Modbury had the strong wind. Subsequently, Raggies kicked 5.4 in the second to be up by a point at half time.

Modbury had 2 players go off injured, well Raggies had 3 go off and finished the last quarter and a half with 18 fit men.

Modbury have injuries, well so do the Raggies, we lost 4 from the previous week including FF, CHB and FB. There are 7 to 8 missing that would be in our best 21. But that's footy. B's have injuries too, we had 10 changes to our C Grade side which is reflective of that.

Raggies did OK from the umps (for a refreshing change I might add!) but Modbury were pretty frustrated. As for the 25's, most were for grabbing the player after an uncontested mark, and if you can't work that out after the 2nd or 3rd time it is your problem.

As for having nothing to lose when we play Modbury, as we are in 6th spot, we have got everything to lose each week from now on. It is a tight comp, 11 wins minimum to get in the five I reckon.

They'll have to put everything into the round 17 clash as thats the only game they have with any sort of chance.
SMOSH would have to start favourites for that game being at home but your right CC Scotch & "Heard" need to pull something out of the hat.

Striking i believe in the last 5 to 10 minutes right in front of the club rooms. The Modbury player was on his knees after making a tackle then number 1(player that was tackled) decided to swing at the modbury player on his knees.

Anyone got any info on Barnaby French, I see he played and kicked a couple of goals Vs SMOSH, would be a very handy addition if he is playing out the year... Might even keep Pembroke in Div 2???????

He's got form has Carr, lets just play this out hypothetically of course, a player wacks gunning and has him stretchered of the ground with a serious head injury after being told by the Stephen Carr - Coach to do it. Gunning loses his income, has long term effects from his injury. I reckon he'd be making more $ injured than he would playing and Carr would be his bi%ch. Surely someone from the Athelstone FC has counselled him that this type of coaching is old school. Last time it was Jack Juniper he wanted "taken care" of. Sass, what was his topic of conversation after the game that put you off him.
