I've played a number of times at Mawsons and its not really in the best of condition, the greens are ok but the fairways get no water.

This has something to do with it still being owned by the university I believe, however I think Delfin have plans to either buy the golf course or build a new 18 hole course in Mawson Lakes... I would have thought this was a no brainer.

Going to have a hit at Echunga on Monday, really looking forward to it, that course is not only great value for money (especialy when you have a 2 for 1 voucher and it only costs $8 for 18 holes !!) but the course itself is in lovely condition and is very nice to play.

Not a golf course review BUT a golf hole review

THE US Masters is a treat for fans of golf, gardening and little stone bridges. It is hands-down the most beautiful golf course in the world, if a little schmaltzy.
But it is far from the most spectacular. That honour must go to the Legends Gold and Safari resort in South Africa, which features this unbelievable extra hole.

It is the world’s longest par three, with a straight-line distance of 830m from tee to green.

But golfers can reach the map of Africa shaped green in one, owing to the fact that golfers tee off from the edge of a 430m high cliff.

Golfers get to the tee, and back to the green, by helicopter.

Here’s Padraig Harrington and Raphaël Jacquelin trying out the hole earlier this year. The golf balls hang in the air for 26 seconds after they are hit, and spotters on the ground plot where they land.

Played there for the first time this morning actually. Also had the 2-for-1 deal ;) Was in great nick and surprisingly busy.

As it's only 15 min from home I'll be making an effort to get there more often.

went to the galwer golf course, i strongly recomend it is a private course but $35 for non members and had a 2 for 1 voucher in entertainment book.

Greens were fast, fairways was easily better then ny public courses ive played on. The bunkers there are a challenge, the par 3s are well set out. There wasnt many ppl there on a public holyday. Definately worth the extra bit of a drive then going 2 the pat where it would be packed
Only cons that i have was the lost 8 holes are pars 4s

Forgot to post how I went back on Easter Monday up at Echunga...

Course was in pretty good nic but it was a bit blustery at 7.30am when we teed off...

Again, struggled with my driver off the tee so was having to play out sideways a bit to get back into the fairway. Shot 50 on the front 9 and didn't putt too well either.

Back 9 was much better (score wise because it is shorter as well) but certainly hit the ball much better and putting really picked up including a moster 30 footer to save par !! Managed to par 4 out of the 5 last holes to shoot a 41 coming in and finished up with 91 off the stick, which with my handicap was 2 under the card from memory.

Got to get back to the driving range and try and get that bloody driver of mine straight off the tee

played at penfield for the first time in about 5 years and was suprised with the condition of the course..... fairways were good and greens nice and evenly paced and not rock solid. Will definatly head back there when i want a quick hit. was a bit of a difference to playing tea tree gully as i did the day before but still in good condition never the less

I do. the one on Tapley's Hill road. Very monotonous and fake IMO. Might head to the Adelaide Shores one next time as its been upgraded to be very similar

I have mainly used in the past few weeks as I recently started playing again after a 4 year retirement from the game but really keen to get back into it properly and when my finances allow it to take out a membership somewhere and into competitive golf again

Heard from someone that Penfield is shutting down, personally i like the course, esp the doglegged holes 2 and 3. Also remember hearing and i cant recall where that there was talk of a new 18 hole course out this way somewhere.

Have got my monthly social club round up at Belair on Sunday morning...

Anyone that has played up there recently tell me me what condition the course is in at present ?

Played there last year after a few days of rain and it becomes quite boggy, wet and muddy ???

Look forward to it, Im playing there on the Quuens Birthday Monday (then onto the Bay 8) )

One thing i cant get used to at Koey is they encourage you to walk your buggy across the greens to ease the traffic around the green...just doesnt feel right!
