good first quarter at kooka pk yesterday and then the wheels came off again and valleys kicked 8 to zip..even 3rd quarter but valleys to strong in the last, ran well and overlapped as the confidence rose..great game by number 10 for valleys..kookas back to the drawing board with 2 more injuries to talls and some horrible turnovers today..might have to go and watch the u/14's today and see if there are any talls there we can bring in

Also numbers 9 and 6 played well for valleys, 22 started well but then got shut down by a good young fellow for kookas. the key was the way that valleys ran the ball forward from the backlines, they linked up very well. Who is number 8 for kookas Zedman? he had a couple of times where he could have passed it on to another kenilworth player to kick goals but hogged it. where is croucher, osborne and salisbury? might be time to play some more of the U/18 players as they will give you some heart and ball pressure.

I personally saw Ingle Farm play Saturday
People can say what they like but to the young teams credit they kept going but have not got the players
Who's fault that is i wouldnt have a clue
Just something that i personally would like to see is not putting 18 blokes behind the footy when your getting beaten like that, young lads coming out the backline with footy bombing to Opp players time after time are learning nothing.
They (forwards) need to learn to run and position themselves and learn from mistakes etc
Tagging when that far down also is going to teach them nothing about getting the ball and using it when being so negative
Differance between 39 goal loss and 45 goals is nothing and you never know you may score more goals yourself.
Just my opinion and Nivo is doing what he thinks is best
Not having a go at his coaching or anything just my thoughts

Looking forward to LM's take on Smithfield playing Perrie and Bassett

Bassett is super fit and covered a lot of ground, he brought other players into the game and had plenty of goal assists. It was a delight to watch someone of this calibre. Perrie was very serviceable, he could've kicked more goals had he not of been so unselfish. He did get done holding the ball 3 times though.
Pulteney had no passengers and moved the ball swiftly and with great precision, we were very under-manned as I stated on Friday, not to the tune of 20+ goals though. We blazed away from the half-back line and gave our forwards very little opportunity to take clean marks, this was largely due to the amount of pressure the Pulteney forwards and on-ballers placed of the player in possession of the ball.
They are no way a two-man team, they are two very handy inclusions and maybe their presence has an outstanding affect on the rest of the playing group, they were simply brilliant on Saturday.

If they played against Elizabeth like they did today and lost by a point then I think Elizabeth could be in for a huge shock over the next few weeks.

Was the worst game the boys have played all season, with all pre-game plans and instructions not adhered to, tagging known play makers to try and shut them down and restrict clearances has to happen to try and give opportunity to own ball getters to create play but unfortunately this didn't happen and rather than play man on man we allowed the opposition to run free by pushing to far up the ground, again issues that will be addressed on the track and the boys know they had a shocker and are all committed to getting back on track for this week.
Again are a very young group that have stepped up and on a steep learning curve and will make judgement mistakes and play errors, but this is also how they will learn and improve and they are all feeling it after the weekends effort and determined to turn it around.

Agree with you there mate. Tagging is a part of the game. You need to shut down the play makers, and its a top learning curve for a young player to play against a seasoned on-baller.
But in one aspect I agree with Bradman is putting all the numbers behind the ball. Thats not going to help much. Put the forwards up there, let the young players try whatever it takes to get the ball out of the back line.

as i said its my opinion that i think in a game like that tagging is going to do nothing for the individual or team to move forward.
The game if in balance etc no problem but i reckon its best to let them enjoy as best they can (losing like this cant help) and playing negatively for that individual not going to help him.

kookas: those 3 players you mentioned are all out injured or not able to play atm..and yes we always look at the under 18s but its not as easy as just picking them and they play..a lot play for their school teams on saturdays afternoons and a lot of them work..rest assured we are trying to get as many to play as possible but it isnt a quick fix..number 8 made a bad error..once..sh1t happens..young ash did a great job on 22 after 1/4 time
