Pies eaten during a game huh?
A Morphies clug legend ( nameless ) ate 3 balfours pies and a bucket of chips in 1 quarter at full forward in 1985.
He also kicked 6 goals in said quarter.
Latest news at roo park: Seb signed by thae Eagles, Ruwolt gone, Longman gone- 3 quality players.

i thought it was a Hungry Jacks :)

we play them only once again this year...and its the 3rd straight year its at morphy parks. i think it would be a much better contest if we played them on a bigger oval where our smaller players could go for a run. they really dominated us in the last game, and i think it was mainly due to them having so many talls in the forward line and full forward being just half a kick from the center circle. hopefully we play them at hackham in 2011.

Um... Only 1/2 a kick at both ends HH. Surely your forwards are not midgets.
I personally like playing at Hackham, been knocked out twice accidently & had Mal Lee rearrange my head once.
I agree the draw is wrong in some instances, we finally play M/Vale at home for 1st time in 5 seasons.

our forwards arent as tall as yours were in the last game. in 08 we did post our highest score of the season with 12 goals...to m/p's 20 something...and it was really one sided in 09.

im not saying that we lost because we played at m/p...im saying the score will be closer because there would be less instances of a ruck tap to ruwolt, kick to one of your many talls in the forward line ending with a shot on goal. at m/p you dont need to get a clean run out of the centre to bomb the ball almost to the goal square. at hackham theres more room to make space, but theres also a greater distance to cover, making for more chances of mistakes and also more opportunities for us hawks to put pressure on the opposition.

an example of what im trying to say is this...m/p kicked over 40 goals against us this year at m/p...about 10 weeks later with the exact same team hackham kept brighton under 30 if i remember correctly at hackham. theres no doubt in my mind that the next time hackham play m/p at hackham it will be a very good game...the result SHOULD come down to 10 or less goals...in my opinion.

Jamie Ruwoldt, Nyani Thomas, Nick Pekin, Elliott King and Seb were referred to Morphie Parks when they were training with the Bays and needed a club to play for in local league.
Seb decided to stay full-time and had a great season. Rooboy also stayed full-time and told me he was thoroughly enjoying being at the club.
Pekin got Best Team Man in Bays Reserves Premiership Team so expect he will be at Bay full-time. King is doing pre-season with Bays. Thomas has signed with Port Magpies.

I'm pretty sure Nyani was a junior at Morphies first

What sort of player is he? Is he likely to play senior footy at SANFL League level for the Magpies next year?

Personally I wouldn't expect to see him playing League. He was a good GFC U19 player in 07-08. Played in the U19 Premiership team, but is a bit 'hit and miss'. When he's good he's very good, but when he's off - he's off. He missed a lot of pre-season for 09. Bit thru injury, but also ventured overseas for a month or so at a critical time.
If he puts in a good pre-season he could start in Reserves, but IMHO not league potential ATM

Everyone knows your club cycles on dollars so will expect it

Ok asert, here is my thought out reply. Not attacking your character as i do not know who you are.
It is true Morphies probably over spent last season, especially on some forward line players, but that would be the only season in my time i think our football dept over used the chequebook.
Players who we have paid over the years that have & still do bleed for us would include Frahmy, Scoobs, Smithy, Boonie, Mitch, Patto & Rooey. Throw in old club faithfuls the Pitts, Knowles & Hardy our club culture is far from one run by the $.
Name the B grade player you mention & i will give you an honest assessment.
Sure we have a drinking culture too but I played in that culture and loved it.
As to everyone knowing our club cycles on dollars are these the same ëveryone"who know they don't pay players in Ametuer League?
Look forward to a reply!

Lads have all signed but not last night.

Last night was the town run followed by a brain storming and educational session in groups in the club.

Numbers were very strong and some exciting new faces. :)

I hear the 7 are Beeching, Bayly, Bayly, J Sampson, Earl, Short & Pollard

I heard a couple of younger blokes maybe heading to the sharks but these i think are players who didnt play last year.

Probably the biggest news involving player movement involving the emus is that Craig $mith knocked back a large amount of coin to remain at Morphies in 2010.

Also everyone on here seems pretty keen to talk up recruits - i wonder if anyone is willing to confirm any big name departures..? Kudos to the twisties faithful who at least are being up front. For the record i believe the emus have managed to retain the 21 from last years premiership side.

DTH i heard on the weekend Aish Simper was going to or had signed at strath...? If it does happen i just hope Strath get the paperwork done properly ;)

Sorry P32 - probably didnt make myself all that clear. Was saying in jest that Morphies are losing 7 key players. From what i understand there might a couple of young fellas that havent been too heavily involved in the club recently that might try their luck elsewhere. I dont think these are players that would have featured heavily in the A grade plans in 2010. Also dont think there would be 7 of them either.

Reynella's offer for Sitters must be huge, looks like he may be back in the black and white next year. TV have thrown everything at him to get him to stay, but he looks set to leave! Maybe Brett Wakefield could be another?? Maybe along with him Cam Pannach?? Am I close flyer

A current team mate at TV (and former team mate at Reynella) believes Sitts will not return to Reynella for season 2010.
