Rd 4 Sturt v Eagles Review

All discussions to do with the SANFL

Great team effort by the Eagles. Unfortunately, our future may be in the hands of the Port Power selectors - let's hope the Power stay fee of injury and in form encouraging them to play unchanged and leave Broadbent and Salter to us. Broadbent looks too classy to stay in the SANFL for much longer - fortunately, Power rate Hamish Hartlett above Broadbent and Hartlett appears ready to resume. This also may make it harder for Paul Stewart to regain his spot releasing him to the Eagles. Providing the Power on-ballers remain fit this week should see us regain Banner.
So Eagle supporters could well help their cause by wishing the Power good luck. Broadbent,Salter, Banner and Stewart make a handy foursome.
Providing we're not a one week wonder, the present forward line is shaping as the best that we've fielded with Salter and Welsh doing the leading and strong marking, Grocke the powerful workhorse also grabbing the big ones with crumbers Goldsworthy and Cheep at their feet. Twice Welsh didn't attempt to mark when out numbered and knocked the ball down in the path of the little men for resultant goals.
Early days and Centrals Glenelg North and West will be working us out over the coming weeks.

Gee, a few wins and the Eagles fans are back out in force...

Congrats to them though as they outplayed Sturt yesterday and certainly deserved the win, but there's a long way to go and I reckon they'll still be looking at 4th or 5th come the end of the minor round...

Sturt might be fighting for those spots with them...

Our forward structure is a dog's breakfast, we have no run out of defense since Coady left and our persistance with two players in particular is starting to wear pretty thin...

The Eagles showed yesterday just what we should be doing. Moving the ball forwards at speed and giving Chambers room to lead. The number of times we just bombed the ball inside 50 was crazy and if we were kicking to a leading player it was usually to Herring deep in a pocket.

Very frustrating for Sturt supporters at the moment.

Hopefully we get McLeay and Hinge back for this weeks game. Herring and Johncock should be sent back to learn some football basics (marking & kicking). On more positive notes, Hassan continues to be impressive, Pittard will get better and better and we have a team who have the ability to fight back and prove they're contenders.

As far as the scoreboard goes, hats off to the kid for putting up his hand to do it...but...can the SANFL not pay someone to do that job at each ground? If not, Sturt should ensure that someone is there with the ability to carry out the task properly and give them the tools they need to do so. I heard one of the SFC admin girls say that the reason the scoreboard in the south western pocket wasn't showing correctly was that they'd run out of 8's! Once again, good on the kid for stepping up when it seems others wouldn't, but just give him someone to help until he gets a bit more experienced...

Perhaps you Eagles can pass the hat around and buy him some dentures so we can understand him when he's abusing the umpires and opposition! :d
And maybe some eye glasses so he can see when the ball's near him! b-(

Eagles. Direct. Confident. Impressive.

Sturt. Rubbish. Again.

Cheergirls. Hot. Again. :-)

I agree CS Sturt are overrated rubbish IMHO. Overacheived last year and like the crows will get caught out this year. Although I could be wrong.

Now lets not bag each others fans Cambridge Clarrie ;) .But seeing you opened the door mate .A number of Sturts Fans started bagging every sturt player they could see from the grand stand from about half time of the seconds game until they left .Which was very early in the third term of the league game .funny that rubbish your players then nick off early  (plus they were sitting on crows pillows something in that I guess )
And to the Sturt fan who was rubbishing hoops in the seconds .From my point of view he made u look small (and the sturt fan was a large lump like me ;) ).Because after YOU had a go at him he then won every centre bounce hit out .FUNNY THAT !!

Yawn.

If it was actually a serious comment, it'd be worth conversing with you. But mate, no matter how oftern you deny it or wish it wasn't so, we whipped your arse in 2002. Bitch slapped you back to the bronx...

BTW 2000-2010 is not a decade. Not even in the Northern Suburbs, where admittedly they have a different take on education.

So be a good chap, edit that signature back to 2000-2009.

Yes, funny you mention that Mickyj. Also very funny about the shalacking/abuse that Luke Jarrad was getting from some Eagles supporters...when your team was well in front.

Was probably when Jarrad stuffed up twice in the back line .

Don't worry mate the Crows/ Eagle fans who sat through the crows shit on Saturday .Will be back Monday .Honestly why watch afl crap when the SANFL is so much better. ;) As was shown at Unley Saturday two free flowing teams was great for the comp.

A week is a long time in football isn't it mickyj. Last week you were bagging the crap out of the game. This week it's a higher standard than the AFL.

Compared to the crows and yesterday's power game and Norwood the week before it was .
The sleeping giant you are quick to attack but seeing you more than likely weren't at the game. How can you tell me I'm wrong.Otherwise if you were there you would have to say it was a free flowing game all day.
