Mallala 15pts
Balak 34pts
Eagles 55pts

Agree Barnes is as tough as they come & i like the guy but he certainly has dished out some dirty treatment to players over the years. I'm sure some Two Wells players would agree. Blokes like him are good for our comp but lets be realistic about them. There are plenty of genuine tough players in our league that don't snipe.

A sniper is someone who runs around clocking people during contests, behind play etc when they are not ready for it (ie Uniteds hitman of yester year Tubby Taylor, or AJ even further back, or that little Tynan kid you tried to give me one in the ribs before promptly sprinting off, oh oh and Kym Hermann.... ). Anyone who has come to blows with Barnes has been looking straight at him havin a crack themselves. As my mate Micky would say “Lets get that right from the start”.

I agree with you Ace that Barnes isn't a sniper and would love to have him running around in my side so let me get that right from the start!! however he has been known to give one or two behind the play in his footy career. I can recall a time at Lochiel against Hamley he gave one of our young lads back then a clip around the chops. Mind you this kid probably deserved it cause he has a mouth on him and you wouldn't need to be Einstein to work out who I am talking about.

Pies won by 6, Eagles by 50 and the Peckers got up by 13.

Burgoyne (if his pay packet as quoted on here is accurate) earnt roughly $150 a touch on Saturday, completing blanketed by Grant Wilmer. Gave away plenty of free kicks to Wilms for holding and push outs when caught under the high ball coming into the United forward lines, not great delivery but was a windy day. Only kicked 2 points and only seemed to push up into the midfield once during the 3rd quarter.

I know United had a couple out including Mark Pym but was a great win by the Peckers, haven't come away from the Water Tower with too many points in the last 10 years.

What was your take on the day MC?

Interested to hear any possible reasons as to United's 0-2 start to the season. Have not seen them play yet but thought they have a strong list this year & am a bit surprised by current results. Hope to catch the local derby this week though as these are always worth watching!

Do united have anything up forward besides PB?

why did they get rid of, or why did Tom Guerin leave? - who kicked 50-60 goals last year?

new coach any good?

United have plenty of options up forward and will be very dangerous when they get up and going I believe. Have replaced Guerin with Matt Lance (SFL) as a full forward, and with Sam McArdle likely to come back this week and McLean, Sobey, Warnes and add Peter Burgoyne they have a potent forward line, it will be a matter of time before they click. Guerin was no good anyway IMHO

I hear the Balak footy and netball players were done over my a couple of young schemer’s last night at training. Apparently a young lad came out to training saying he was new to the area looking for a club to play at and joined in training whilst his mate went through the players cars cleaning them out! Have heard this may have happened in the Barossa and in Riverton too.
Beware of new comers wearing Centrals gurnseys! And lock your cars!

I have just copied and pasted an email I received about twenty minutes ago from the Community Football League and the Association. Unfortunately its true. :(

--------------------

Hi Everyone, it has come to our attention from the police department that there are up to three football clubs RSMU, Kapunda and Balaklava that have had players training bags/ wallets/mobile phones stolen from inside their club rooms while training, in one case, 3 guys rocked up to practice and said they would like to play with the team. One goes out to train and the other 2 broke into several cars.

It’s all happened in the past two weeks so please keep a watch out for the culprits and maybe number one be cautious of new players dropping in asking for a game and the second is try and have someone always patrolling both the club rooms and the car park area.

Apparently police have a description but at this stage cannot give out this info, but like I said if you don’t know someone at training keep a close eye on them and if you see something that is out of the ordinary contact police.

I know you probably think it won’t happen to your club but all the above clubs probably thought that as well, so be on your toes to catch the bastards, please tell as many supporters, support staff and players as you can.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!
