Brighton V M/Vale - Originally picked valleys last week, then change to picking Emu's by a point; Brighton by 3 goals

C/Beach V Marion - Marion - 5 points - If they lose, how long before we start to see and hear of dissent at pokie park

Cove V Townies - Cove 5 Goals

Flaggies V Noarlunga - Shoes 5 Goals

Hackham V Aldinga - Hackham by 3 Goals

H/Valley V Pt Noarlunga Valleys - Valley by 10 Goals

Lonsdale V M/Park - Twisties by 6 Goals - If they lose, we will start to hear more and more dissent from the pastie

Like the AFL has themed rounds throughout the year, the SFL could name this round the "competitive" round.

My under standing of the situation is that most people at lonsdale wanted to clear gary because, he doesnt want to be there so move him on, but a couple of people have convinced the committe and players other wise and that is why we are where we are

A worker on an annual contract would only be in breach of it if the contract was recognized by the relevent authority and then they would be able to give notice not just be held for the length of the agreement, or the employer could just hold him and watch his work, care factor and attendence slide and be taken advantage of.

As I understand it the meeting was arranged Monday night at the president's meeting. Coach was called Tuesday, but he couldn't make it. Coach called the league President on Tuesday to explain the situation. Lonsdale president called the Porties president to make sure there were no misunderstandings about the meeting being postponed. Are you saying that after all that the SFL reps showed up for the meeting anyway?

What I believe Lonsdale are trying to gain by not clearing Gary is to say that they are drawing a line at contracted players. Everyone else has been cleared in good time once finanicals were paid up. I've never heard anyone at Lonsdale saying that they intend to hold Gary for the full 3 years.

I would have to say now after seeing all the top sides In full flight, cove and reynella are the sides to beat(cove for me).Brighton once again today just did not convince me after crawling over the line against a depleted but brave m/vale.valley the other surprise, but after a loss to p/noar tells me they could lose to anyone bar the bottom 2 or 3 on any given day.look for m/vale at seasons end to not be far of the pace.

If its principle good on you Alf Stewart, but how does that help lonsdale

We have a dfferent out look to the commitee that was around when Ashley was at Porties, and that is shown by the fact that Gary wanted to come back and Probably Ashley wont ever.

I just dont see the logic in burning bidges

The best thing for all parties is to clear the player to play for whatever team they want to play for. Why dont porties offer the lions some \$$$$ if they made the lions pay $$$$ for baxter who at that stage was only worth a meat pie(and prob still is) G karpany would be 5 totimes the player at the some stage, so an offer over around that mark would be appropriate i feel.

Tough week for the tipsters by the looks. After reading the last few pages I can gather that Porties and whoever Deep Heat supports doesn't have any contracted players as they don't believe in them. Sounds like it should be open clearances for all then, save time on paperwork.

Thats all we keep hearing from MV Vulcan. What about the bravery of Brighton for coming from behind in the last qtr. Brighton had no Miles, Statham and Rivers plus a couple of others who haved played A grade this year so stop bleating about being depleted. And don't forget we lost 2 with ankles before qtr time which mucked up our structure a bit and only gave us one rotation for the rest of the game. So I'm sorry if that wasn't convincing enough for you. How can you say you've seen Cove in full flight. They haven't played anybody yet.
