A popular beer has been recalled due to two serious issues.
Cans and cartons of Twang Brambleberry Sour Beer has been pulled from shelves at liquor stores in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia.
Ballistic Beer Co is conducting the recall due to the product potentially containing more alcohol than what is listed on the can.
There is also a concern the can may “pop open”, due to secondary fermentation, and cause injury.
The affected beer cans have the following markings:
Packed on 10/07/2020 and best before 10/04/2021
Packed on 13/07/2020 and best before 13/04/2021
“Ballistic Beer Co is conducting a recall of Twang Brambleberry Sour Beer 375ml can (40g), 24 x 375ml carton (10kg),” Food Standards Australia said.
“The product has been available for sale at liquor stores in NSW, QLD, VIC and SA.
“The recall is due to potential for alcohol to exceed marked alcohol content and possibility for the can to pop open due to a secondary fermentation.
“Food products containing excess alcohol and carbonation may cause illness/injury if consumed.”
Consumers are advised to not drink the product and return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
