Fantastic all round performance most of the season.

Started off slowly and just built up momentum.

Batting left a bit to be desired but as Brdlach has said time and time again we have an A1 bowling attack and some pretty handy allrounders.

Well done S.A. Party hard, be lots of the sponsors product around as Trav isnt here to drink it

Andf well done to Alex Carey and Scotty Boland for choosing your State side over the glory and hit and miss cricket

The last line x 10000000.

I love that there is still a healthy majority, hell bent on making sure this format stays around long term. Players like Carey and Scotty that still place Shield cricket above the franchise rubbish need to be applauded.

Haters of the long format can **** right off. This final, in particular, produced the lot. It had absolutely everything you would want from both bat and ball, and if you found it boring because it wasn't a run fest with 6s flying all over the place, adjust your view of the game.

Agree. This was an unreal final - had everything, went the distance (thanks to weather) and so many different momentum swings.

No other format has the ability to mess with your emotions like Shield / Test cricket.. it's captivating viewing - and even when there are lull's you don't want to turn away because anything can happen (just look at the 2-0 before stumps last night).

It's the best format, and it's a shame local comps are moving more towards shorter format as well.

Wow wasn't expecting that after day 3.

I've bagged Carey (not on here) a few times for giving up his wicket in Test cricket, but the two innings in the last two Finals have been proper, responsible, batting, attuned to what has been required.

Long form cricket is still the best game in the world.

Brilliant, wish they could play the final in late Feb when there is bugga all other sport on.

This is the one team that everyone in the state supports, there isn't another sport that can say that.
