Who ever your source was on this one my advice would be to not listen to them in the future….. Kenilworth haven’t played Macclesfield for about 12-13 years in a trial.oldman wrote:Maccy beat Kenilworth easily I heard

Any truth to a really serious incident at Gums last night with a Birdwood player needing to be airlifted to hospital? If correct wish the lag all the best.

A star country footballer is fighting for life after an on-field collision during an Hills Football League season opening game.
Birdwood Football Club utility Antonio Loiacono suffered critical injuries in the final quarter in the A-Grade match against Gumeracha in the Hills Football League on Saturday.
He was treated at the scene before speciality paramedics were called to the Gumeracha Oval and was flown to Royal Adelaide Hospital just before 8pm.
Loiacono previously for Waikerie in the Riverland Football League last season and also represented Norwood’s Under 18 side in 2019.
SA Heath confirmed the man remained in a critical condition Sunday evening.
The result of the match, which kicked off at 5.30pm, remains pending.
The SANFL released the following statement about the incident: “the league is offering the family and club all the support it can.”

Incredibly sad.
Incredible it could happen on a footy field like we've all played on.
Have heard that it was a fairly innocuous incident/tackle.
