thats a big call. went down the Ovies club monday night and meet this newman,to b honest the bloke new what he was talking about and informed me that he will b around on a 2 year set up and his lad that someone talked about earlier is going to stay at the club for a while.They had a around 20 on the track and chris informed me not to believe all the talk on the numbers,they will proberly only go one side as he doubts they will have enough to fill to sides.Guys like his son Matty,Cooke,Elmadorp,O'brien,Richo,Spence,Rynno and locky will certainly go alright in a c grade standed,but to not lose a game is a big call,Klompy hasnt signed but chris said hes definatly playing.

Hi Benno,lovers lane is back on.Spoke with a few of your old premiership mates the other night down at ovies.Rynno,Bazz and Locky all say hello,this newman bloke sounded like he was on track and boy do they take it seriously down in the lower grades,but i think thats because there not sure if they are going in div7 or c5,numbers werent that good for to sides but its only early,alot of boys were talking about hanging around for a few years and make it their club,winning flags together and helping the club move up threw the grades.

Hey Wattle,things sound like they're going ok down at Ovies.Good news to hear that my old mate Klompy will be playing.He kicked 108 goals in Div 7 res last year so he should wipe the floor with C5.Hope the club can get two sides but if not just gotta win the flag and get more numbers next year.

yeah took gepps c grade to an undeafeated flag alright, won every game by 20 goals plus,with a div 1 c grade with A grade quality players , when gepps b grade were struggling and none of the c graders would go up,, even played an ex afl crows player a few times (josh mail)agianst other div 5 and 6 c grades, then only just beat para hills in the gf after going the knuckle, by 3 goals. then when they were put in the c grade of the div 1 clubs, the year after,,, surprise surprise they ended up winning 1 game, and even with payney still playing,,,,,He even played in the b s last year coz they were better......these are facts, just ask any other team that played in 10 n . they were the most hated team going. yeah id be bragging about that premiership....NOT. and no, i have nothing to do with ovies.

Dont know anything about that year but having played footy myself a flag is a flag and undefeated in any grade would b hard to do and special.He told me he coached Gepps x in 06,and wingies in 07 so id say all his guys went with him,thats another reason why gepps c grade only won 1 game last year

and wattle there lies your answer. gepps x undefeated premiers, newman walks out and so do his merry men, geppies locals are all gone because all the recruits got a game in front of them, and thus win 1 game the following year. good luck ovies a premiership may be great but 2009 is still what us critics are waiting to see what happens. by the way that undefeated side probably 4 players would have made the b grade in 2006, which missed the five by one game plus percentage. i rest my case.

Well the Ovies players from last year cant be true clubmen because heaps of them have left.If Newman did'nt come along they might've already folded

if your saying only 4 would have played bs, id say 14, this isnt exaggerated as i played against then that year..4 would have played A s. allcock., cooke, payne(altho hes a little older, but IS a clubman, and didnt follow the defecters) the big red head ruckman and so on all should have played higher.

How would c5 rate against div7r Benno?if Klompy kicked 108 in 7r then wouldnt c5 be easier?i'd expect he will kick a few backs this year.Does his mate Arnie still play with him.

Ive been out there having a look at them and they are burning up the track at the moment. Ovies will not be an easy side to make this year there are a lot of good players training for one side. There is a winning feeling out there before the season has even started.

I dont know about this year but I know Arnie played last year at Wingies but he played A grade so missed out on a flag with Klompy.It's funny how all these dudes talk about clubmen.Clubs like Ovies and Wingfield dont give players any reason to stick around.I'm not surprised most blokes only last 1 year at clubs like that.I'd say Wingies would'nt have made the finals in either grade if Newman did'nt go there with his boys
