Where, oh where does your arrogance stem from. One win in a year to Round 22 chokers yet all we here is how great North are. 15 years since your last flag aint exactly good reading either pal....

Not only are you the most precious South Adelaide supporter, but in all of South Australia. Do you have a sense of humour? You'll note your mate made a light hearted comment, as was mine... sheesh, you want one of these  on the end of every post?

WCP - At least our last 3 grand final wins are on DVD/Video and in colour. Must be amusing to watch a 2 minute Movietone B&W recount of your last success?

15 years might not be great reading but still better than 41. I guess you have every right to be slightly touchy about the subject.

PS. Drebin's post may have been used before but it is still no less relevant.

Why wcp? - I recall I have used it myself on many occasions in the past (in fact I think I coined the phrase!) so it works for me so why change.
P.S. It is the truth and as has been said before - we are hardly a target for ridicule compared to South. If I were in your postion following a team like South I would wait until you have somnething to hang your hat on before dishing it out to the opposition. At last count South is the worst performed out of all the teams re their last flag and the number of finals appearances in that time. Still, can't knock you for being loyal though albeit a little misguided!
P.S. I do agree that 15 years is poor reading but I think we are a little closer than you guys at this stage based on the last 2 years and all the high profile players you have "recruited" for not even a finals berth.

Yes, the SANFL officials have decided to remind South of what the Cup looks like, and are personally taking it down there for a quick visit. Some of them down there think it's made of cardboard, other don't believe it exists!

Lol I'll pay that.
However can't promise we would allow the cup to leave. :D

Maybe the SANFL should send wonder coach A. N. Jarman down to South so he can turn the club around? A fourth place finish would do wonders for the Panthers confidence.

LOL topsywaldron - A. N. Jarman the wonder coach

Wonder clown!!! Its all about him!

As a coach he has had limited success. I reckon he thinks he can recruit a premiership - poor deluded fool! His juniors should have been promoted ahead of the recruits - that would have been the recipe for success.

Heard the dogs have recruited afew guys from the tasmanian VFL side, and sound like they could be very good players similar to the unknowns we lost this year(Arnott the exception) so along with Noodles back,Officer a bit more experience,Brad Symes maturing,Stuart Cochrane full time,Thommo and young Wilbur back and a few ressie guys who played some games last season not is all lost in doggie land.

It has been confirmed in the Port Magpies e-newsletter that the club has signed John Baird and Shane Morrison.

John Baird started his career at Box Hill and got given his chance on the rookie list by North Melbourne. Played 54 games as a key defender and was a favourite of the North crowd. 194cm, 94 kg

Shane Morrison was a father son pick to Brisbane and at one stage was rated higher than Jonathon Brown. Injuries hurt him at Brisbane and he was dropped after 5 games in 5 years. Was re-drafted by Richmond and after a strong start to 2004, he fell away and was delisted this year. Can play CHB or CHF. Will probably see him at CHF for the pies. 193cm, 105kg

The club also announced the departures of a couple of other players:
Ruck/Forward Nick Butler is returning to Melbourne
CHB Andrew Morrison is going back to Queensland
Reserves FF Antony Mathews is moving to Mt Gambier

Morrison is a hack. I've seen this guy play and he isn't anything to get excited by. Hope he is not demanding top dollar. Baird will be a decent player

Who is this guy Bolten from Geelong who the eagles have signed?

Tuckey was a hack at 2 clubs at AFL level yet consistently burns it up at the lower levels. Many other players are good SANFL/VFL players without being able to do a thing at the next level up.

If Morrison can hold down CHF reasonably well then Ill be happy. If he can go back and hold CHB reasonably well Ill be happy. Im not expecting him to dominate.

Macca, perhaps you can do some sums and let us know how Port can fit ten or twelve AFL players within the salary cap.

Perhaps also bear in mind that Clayton is widely regarded as the highest paid player in the SANFL.

Seeing that you have now added Baird, Morrison, Alvey, Bullen, Poulton and Johnson and only the only players of any note you have lost are Brown and Funcke, could you let us know which players will be taking massive pay cuts?

Clubs being investigated? I wonder who?
