Semantics over the words interim and acting, I guess. Van Berlo was captain, but injured, in my eyes that doesn't make you an interim captain just acting.

Raided by the new franchises. They lost 1 player each to the Suns and Giants. Bock and Davis. Pretty sure most of the clubs have lost players to the new franchises and other clubs . Look at Hawks they lost Buddy and still won flags.

Bock to the Suns, Davis to GWS are the only real losses to the new clubs, the likes of Gunston just wanted out, Vince had to be traded to get picks after the Tippett debacle, Tippett wanted out and not even to go home out, Dangerfield walked out pretty easily considering the Walsh / BnF and what Adelaide look to be building on field.

So if all these players have wanted out then it musnt be so rosey down at the Crowland.

No secret they've had issues with player retention, thus the nervous nature of the last 3 months with McGovern and Lever.

Even the most ardent crows haters would have to admit this is impressive

They don't have a top-10 draft pick on their list, although they did partially secure Brad Crouch in 2011 via giving up pick 10 in an arrangement with GWS under a specially instituted AFL rule, which allowed the trading of a 17-year-old.

The Crows' vaunted forward line has been put together on the cheap. Captain Tex Walker was taken in 2007 at No.75 as a NSW scholarship holder.

Eddie Betts was recruited via free agency, Josh Jenkins and Tom Lynch also from other clubs, and Mitch McGovern at No.43 in the 2014 national draft. Cameron was a rookie draft selection in the same year.

The drafting of Matt Crouch at No.23 in 2013 was as clever as that of the securing of his brother two years earlier.

Picks include Sloane at No.44 in 2008, Rory Atkins No.81 (2012) and Riley Knight No.46 (2013). Rory Laird was a rookie choice, so too Jake Kelly and Kyle Hartigan.

Ruckman Sam Jacobs has also been a recruiting "steal", with Carlton handing him over for picks 34 and 67 in 2010.

Betts was taken at pick 3 originally, so claiming not to have a top ten draft pick is skewing the truth.

And if Gibbs comes to Adelaide you would have a number 1 pick too.

That was pick 3 in the pre season draft not the main draft

They'd all go back to their club rooms and celebrate with the fans who go there all the time and rub shoulders with the players, wouldn't they?

I think there is a bit of crows hate going on here. It wasnt Bennys article, he only agreed with it. Bless his poor lefty heart.

Honestly they have done well, they have lost some good player's and besides B. Crouch have developed players from deep 1st rounders am 2nd and 3rds.

But, they haven't won anything, yet, anyway, sooo......what have they developed them into? Good footballers, no surprise seeing they spent 5 days a week working on it.

Ah yes, some supporters agreeing with an article written by a Victorian on a forum that 30 people read is going to influence the Crows performance tomorrow night
