2016-17 GCCC Catalogue has the GN Momentum Pure - $995

Your first pair of pads had buckles on them....

There have been models over the $1000 mark for a couple of years now....

I've seen them and thought who the hell would buy a cricket bat that costs that much?

You would want to be premier First Grade minimum not these park hard wicket players ;)

Haven't really noticed. Seen plenty of sticks reserved for First Class players though. Those would have to be $1000 each.

I think I remember this, it was before they moved into Regent Arcade next to Players Bar.

From memory in was in the shop next to Cibo, which last I remember housed a sushi train.

I reckon Ro-Jays was situated further east, FC, on the corner of Grenfell and Hyde Streets on the ground floor (perhaps the basement as well). The sushi train tenancy did have a sport store back in the late 1980s, but I can't recall its name, maybe "Sports Locker" or something?

There's some interesting 90s Adelaide pix in this story (apologies if it's already been posted):

Think Hughes and Loveday was just off the mall in Regent Arcade and Rowe and Jarman was at the other end next to Players Bar

Smith & Wesson is a gun... Hughes & Loveday just off mall in regent arcade as suggested. Rowe & Jarman were at other end of regent, though I recall they were in KW street at one point!?!?

R&j was in the South side of Grenfell St and when it moved over the Rd, it's old location was taken over by JRs Surf and Ski IIRC.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

There was definitely a sports shop in Grenfell, partly owned by Paul Weston IIRC.., I just can't remember the other surname.

W Brown and Sons, metal merchants went down in the 80's. It was a scrap yard for years.

Big windows all along Port Road at high level. Big double gates on Port Road that went into the yard.

I think, may be wrong, Paramount Browns is the Brown noted above.

He was South Road, where the Urban Stone place is opposite the cemetery.
