Some dodgy trading going on. Franklin was a FA at the top club and the Swans still were penalized yet Richmond have taken Lynch from a bottom club. Nothing said. Same the 2 Hawks picks. Go Figure

Hawks having a ripping trade period. Land Scrimshaw for nothing, land Scully for less and then get rid of Duryea.

If he plays they have a ripper. If not they are paying $1m a year to 2 blokes that won’t play a game

Yep Jim thats the concern, but if Scully retires we get him off the salary cap books. Its only when you sign a free agent that their salary counts for the whole length of their contract.
Scrimshaw the bigger worry, like for like on O'Rourke lol

As Stan said the biggest trade we made today was giving away Duryea, effectively Duryea for Scully, youd do that every day of the week even if Scully was two year away from playing again

Trade Radio reporting Burton has told Hawthorn he is happy to be traded to Port Adelaide.

West Coast have offered picks 20 and 22 for Kelly, Geelong asking for next years first rounder as well.

Interesting choice of words...a couple of days ago he was shattered.
Guessing length of contract and $ thrown at him might have swayed his mood?

The 8 way trade is reliant on Neale getting to Brisbane, this will allow Port ( Wingard / Amon / Burton ), Fremantle ( Neale / Hogan ), Brisbane ( Neale / Adams / Beams ), Hawthorn ( Burton / Wingard / Amon ), Bulldogs ( Adams ), Gold Coast ( May ), Collingwood ( Beams ) and Melbourne ( Hogan / May ) to shuffle players and picks.

It's expected Port could end up with Brisbane's pick 5, Hawthorn's pick 15 and Ryan Burton and give up pick 6 and Wingard ( along with something else, future 3rd/4th rounder ).

If Port can end up with 5,10,15 and Burton after losing Wingard, Polec, Pittard ( boohoo ), Amon whilst not thrilled at one of our losses ( Wingard ) I'll be happy that we've got the best possible outcome for our club.

3 picks in the top 15 and Ryan Burton. Not many clubs would knock back compensation like that.

8 Way trade, what a load of shit, manufactured by the AFL to show on TV. No way could clubs orchestrate a deal like that. Can't wait until TV start broadcasting ad-free training sessions or team meetings. Does everything have to be made for tv.

It's not an 8 way trade, per se, it's a domino effect that if one trade ( Neale to Brisbane ) can be facilitated then Fremantle have the picks they need for Hogan and the rest falls into place, potentially.
