4 teams - Aldgate, SCIB, Happy Valley, Bridgewater, Basket Range 3 teams - Mt Lofty, Uri's, Onka's 2 teams - Meadows, Stirling, Mylor, Eastern Ranges 1 team - Stanley Bridge, Aldgate Hotel
thought Id do some research - well done to Baskets for getting 4 teams, Meadows suprises me that they cant get 3 teams? and Eastern Ranges should be playing B grade minimum, their C grade side has some fringe A grade quality players.
Nice research, Dutchy. I thought it was more than that.
ER definitely should be fielding a B grade. And if any of those teams field an A's and C's, they should be forced to have a B's. Not fair on the others.

Have had this conundrum at the Ling for years. We played B's for 2 seasons and won 2 games. Didn't do much for morale, and we subsequently lost shitloads of players.
This rule would be more successful if the B Grade was a 1 day competition. The biggest problem we faced at the Ling was player commitment over 2 weeks (and alcoholism!!!!)
Fair point DA.
I reckon they were close last year with the half/half one dayers and two dayers throughout the season. Even sh#t teams couldn't get as disheartened in a one dayer, as opposed to fielding all day, then chasing 350, and getting all out for 80 or 90.
Bring back one dayers for all grades, maybe 2 dayers for A's...

My opinion is every club should have a minimum B grade, how they structure the rest is up to them, teams Like SB and ER can get serious or get out...I can understant Lofy and Stirling having C grade as 2nd team due to lack of success but Onka's baffles me.

i agree i think eastern ranges are kidding themselves and the competition and them playing in C and D grade is unfair to the other teams. their D grade are by far way to strong for the competition and they should be forced to move up into B and C grades instead. get a life and stop trying to feel awesome by thrashing D grade sides every week. perhaps it is the only satisfaction they get all week because its fair to say they are all 'A grade' wankers.
Didn't ER get smashed in the C grade GF? Or semi? Sucked in. Clubs should AT LEAST have a b grade. And this A and C grade bothers me too. Every club goes thru eras of lack of success, doesn't necessarily mean you dop a grade. Tough it out!
I think teams that field 4 teams should be given fair credit when they make finals or win flags especially.

i think youll find its a very simple solution. the hills assoc. actually got close last year and then ****** it up again this year. last yr there was half one-dayers and half two-dayers. this wasnt bad but if you want people to put teams in the highest grades then make b-grade one-dayers. i believe that most teams play c or d grade because people cant guarrentee their services for two weeks. its not because they want an easy game of cricket. its just like steve mcgregor to take the comp backwards!!!!!!!
Why not have a club championship , where points are allocated for each division including juniors. A grade points x 4 , B grade points x3 , etc. To encourage clubs to work harder on getting teams in all divs and to put time and effort into their juniors. It would also reward the clubs who already do this.
Wolverine, they have a club championship in the HFL, and it's about as sought after as a fat hooker. Nobody gives a toss about it, trust me - we won it this year apparently.
The only solution is a one-day B grade comp.
The reason they have a two day B Grade comp is to 'groom' players for the step up to A grade. What a load of cock. Who cares, lets just have one-dayers in every grade, and the HCA will be full of happy campers again. (Except ER and SB - knobs!)
That's spot on.
The HCA will see that's the best way to go when they see all the 'slash' players being used because of the lack of numbers able to commit to 2 weeks. Plus it can be dead f'n boring when you're in the field the whole bloody day.
How did the Aldgate Bs go GTS? I heard young Pistola made a duck egg. Is lurch playing these days? How did coat rack go? Is young Jonny mac going to put a bumblebee this year?
D GRADE NEWS
