$245 is a good price
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Re: I need to know....
The NZ Volcano, such a tragedy, however I thought scientists basically knew when they were going to erupt these days via monitoring them etc?
The cruise ship involved is the one we went on in March this year, can only imagine how the feeling on the ship would be right now

A work colleague was born and lived in Tauranga which is where the Ovation of the seas is berthed and about 70km from the island. His wife was from Whakatane which is where the rescue effort is being conducted. The Island is offshore and can be easily seen when driving down the "Matata straights" between the 2 cities. This island has been erupting and belching gas, fumes and ash for the past 60 years that his family can remember and people have been travelling to the island for tourism and to see the area close up etc over this time.
It’s been about 20 years since the last eruption but scientists have said there had been signs over the last few weeks and it is NZ’s most active volcano

Interesting, no doubt this will be heavily reviewed, obviously the authorities thought it was safe to visit, just terrible timing and bad luck. I imagine there would be plenty of days where no one sets foot on there.

The island is a National Park and limited to 10,000 visitors per year. Tours run all year I believe.

How crazy given the amount of uncontained fires in similar regions as it seems from afar.
