Actually, a new benchmark was set if you believe one piece in Daryl Timms' column in the Herald Sun yesterday. Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting, North Melbourne No.1 ticket holder and now Sydney resident, apparently texted former Roos champion Glen Archer on Saturday to advise him he wouldn't be attending Saturday night's game because.... it was too chilly.

and admited last night that punter didnt actually say that, he has a prior commitment, Arch said it was to cold to stir him up...Punter wasnt happy!

I thought it must have been a joke, Archer wouldn't publicly release details of a txt msg from Punter. It's still no excuse though, putting a 'prior commitment' ahead of a Final involving your team isn't great.
