Sally bombs out in the quarters of the surfing, Owen Wright it on in 40mins but will find it very tough against Italo

Tsuzuki came 9th at Margret River and 5th at Rottnest Island on the WSL back in May so its not a random result.Jim05 wrote:Beaten by the Japs in surfing, surely a new low in Australian sport

Re: Tokyo Olympics 2020(1)
Might be an un-Australian opinion, but have found the surfing quite dull as a spectator sport. (admittedly dont really understand the scoring)
Have been on annual leave and taking advantage of the streaming service- great to avoid the ads and replays on the two main 7 channels.
Watching far more table tennis than I'd care to admit
and the cross country mountain biking yesterday was a great watch.

Re: Tokyo Olympics 2020(1)
I love watching the surfing, really enjoyed it, however the WSL is much better to watch as they run the events at the premium locations in great conditions with waves of consequence, this Japanese beach break isn't the best advertisement for the sport.saintal wrote:Might be an un-Australian opinion, but have found the surfing quite dull as a spectator sport. Tough call. Brutal sport in as far as 1 small error is a massive penalty.tigerpie wrote:Jess Fox chokes again unfortunately. Bronze.

She made 2 mistakes. 1 and she still wins Gold.Corona Man wrote:Tough call. Brutal sport in as far as 1 small error is a massive penalty.tigerpie wrote:Jess Fox chokes again unfortunately. Bronze.
You can’t continue to go in as World Champion and blow it yet again without copping some criticism

Re: Tokyo Olympics 2020(1)
Bit harsh IMO. Thanks to our swimmers we're a good shot at exceeding our London and Rio tallies. I think Fox would be our only favourite beaten so far. Swings and roundabouts though; I don't think K. McKeown and Titmus were favourites for gold.Jim05 wrote:Choke job by Aussies this OlympicsDutchy wrote:Tsuzuki came 9th at Margret River and 5th at Rottnest Island on the WSL back in May so its not a random result.Jim05 wrote:Beaten by the Japs in surfing, surely a new low in Australian sport
Edit: actually Barty had a shocker too.

So how is it when the opponent twists their ankle on your foot they get a free kick?
