Yeah, i thought Rohit was a genuine middle order and then in my mind 'out of nowhere' was an opener for India's last series against us over here. I could have that completely wrong but remember being caught by surprise that he was opening against us.The Dark Knight wrote:Just looked it up-whufc wrote:Yeah i would think Gill is a certainty to open it will be one of the other openers who drop down.
For some reason i feel like Sharma spent most of his career in the middle order.....potentially Rahul did as well now that i think about it.
KL Rhaul has opened in 72 of his 78 test innings
Rohit Sharma has opened in 30 of his 77 test innings. Interestingly Rohit has batted in every position from 1-6 in test cricket.

Re: Australian tour of India 2023
Rohit batted mostly 6 then 5 and also 3 at times from his debut to the Boxing Day test in 2018, I couldn't find if he was or not but he may of dropped after that test and then in October 2019 he was recalled/promoted to open on the back of his great ODI opening form and it was a great success scoring two hundreds in his first test match opening against South Africa then scored a double hundred two tests later.whufc wrote:Yeah, i thought Rohit was a genuine middle order and then in my mind 'out of nowhere' was an opener for India's last series against us over here. So some of the aussie players already coming out and saying they are exhausted
Warner complaining that he has spent hardly anytime with his family, simple pal, choose to stay at home with them, choice is yours, family or money or just STFU

Some of the Aussies apart from Warner? Who else said it? I thought it was only Warner as I read wanted to miss the Cricket Australia Awards because he felt exhausted.locky801 wrote:So some of the aussie players already coming out and saying they are exhausted

I think this is well beyond him.
"Hopefully next year I can come out and be a little bit fresher than what I am at the moment," he said. It's going to be a long lead-in to our summer. From a personal point of view, I'm going to have to try and work out how to stay nice and fresh."

Boland to play then or like Locky said do they give Morris a crack? Seems unlikely IMO.

Boland would be first call up I guess, actually have to admit forgot about him

I actually think that Boland's nagging length makes him our most dangerous quick in India, I think this is a blessing in disguise.locky801 wrote:The Dark Knight wrote:FFS.Brodlach wrote:Hazelwood ruled out of the first test due to an Achilles injury

I wouldn't play Green solely as a batter based on the one innings in Galle.
I don't think he is consistent enough yet, I think Renshaw or Handscomb would be a better option and I would give the finger the extra rest and not risk copping one on it or causing it to fatigue if he was to have a lengthy innings or cop one in the gully.
His all-round skills earn him immediate selection, neither discipline on it's does.

If Green ain’t bowling he’s not in the side(just yet).
Play Renshaw until Green is fully fit and can bowl too

Aussies 2-1
I think Warner will make some runs over there knowing it’s his last trip there in Tests.
Smith to make a mountain of runs.
