I don't normally follow this league but love your postmortem scripts willow. The great thing about our game is all country clubs are striving for the same result. Some have more resources, some have stronger cultures and some have more success. But one thing common amongst all these clubs is the small group of people who do the work around these clubs. For some clubs, these people are the backbone and some are the handbrakes. Sounds like you had the handbrakes willow. The alarm bells would have started ringing at the interview. I've seen plenty of good people come and go from footy clubs. I was once told by an old coach," you are appointed to be sacked". Very few leave on their own terms. What is the recent success of the club? Was the package worth the travel?

Glad your getting a good read on this site and one thing I can tell you is its all facts....straight from my mouth not "I heard through a mate" bullshit!!!!
Well said mate....The clubs that are successful usually have all their people pushing in the one direction while the unsuccessful one's are to busy driving their own agenda's which causes mass confusion with no direction which is why they cant find success in the first place.

To be honest the recruiting thing wasnt a major issue as I thought they made a good point about my knowledge but regardless of this as the appointed coach I should have been involved in some capacity even its only the interview process. Looking back i didnt realise people were already driving their own agenda's by wanting total control but hindsight is a great thing. The other thing is the job itself was very attractive to me for the pure reason footy offers you challenges and I love nothing more of a challenge of taking a struggling but proud club like Ardrossan and help them to rebuild back to their glory days when they were successful. That and the group were so young and as a youth worker I love nothing more than to see young kids develop into outstanding young men through the challenges that football offers. Thats why I coach!!!! unfortunately things dont always work out the way you plan and in this case thats true. But both footy and life are full of challenges and you just pick yourself up dust yourself off and move onto the next challenge with the knowledge of the last.

All in all the Ardrossan footy club is abound with many great people and my time their was so enjoyable I can not help but call many of them my friends....Thats why the decission and how it was delivered to me gutted me for quit awhile. Glad I took the job on. Sad it ended the way it did....All good

I'm not involved in the YPFL, but have been involved with Willo in the past. He is a premiership coach at our club, and during his time, made a lot of young blokes better (and more disciplined) players and men. Still has a lot of respect from anyone involved at our club. I only played one game under him and he backed me in and pumped me up more than any coach I've had, and especially as an 17-year old at the time, I couldn't have asked anymore out of a coach.

Yes they were certainly good times and Pag you were always a great lad heading to become an even greater man. Footy gave you that medium to grow through the challenges it brings (thats why your a premiership player).

To me, Its always important the person comes before the footballer. I just wanted to clear up some miss reports on the matter and comment from the truth instead of reading comments from people that think they were told the truth.....

believe the crows won by 29ts. Didnt see the game so cant comment from that point.

Crows played without pitty and Benny o. The crows tackled very well which stopped clean possession into kadinas forward line. The difference was ran late in the game. Crows just had more. The crows a bit more fresher after the bye last week.

Spoke to a player from Kadina yesterday. His comments were much the same as yours Westy. Crows very strong through the midfield, especially when Jonno lee had a spell in the ruck. Harradine didn't play so lost some speed and skills up forward and a couple other bloods just didn't have an impact.
Should be some cracker games in the finals.

Did Wallaroo miss a golden chance to play finals. Lost to cougars, play moonta this week and then it could all come down to the last game between Wallaroo and Bute.

Moonta and either wallaroo or bute in 5th spot to go out in the first 2 weeks, pasky will b competitive, their best players are equal to the top 2 sides, however it's their bottom end players that will struggle under finals pressure.

Serle took ten 1 on 1 marks inside 50 on goldsmith. Kicked 1 goal 6 and set up 3 goals. He had heaps of the ball just didn't put it on the score board. Last time Kadina played the crows at Bute it was 100 point smashing. Bloods have Mcmillan, Neuman, Sansbary, Harradine, young Ellis, and Burnell to return.

Yea good call Westy...Although we couldnt play without them makes it hard when some struggle to keep up with play. Problem is mate whats going to happen when they do finaly make the decission to call it quits.

Seriously though the YPFL do have to have a good look at the future with the umpiring department or it will only get worse.

Geez dont poke a sleeping bear CCF. Searle as we all know is a match winner...Crows would want to be keeping a lid on things right now and not getting to far ahead of themselves, as good as last weeks performance was. Im sure they wouldnt be questioning any of the Kadina player's abilities against any of their own right now....

Known this lad since he was a little boy running around salisbury nth. Kid can seriously play....Back to back B&F's and a premiership in two years at the parkies playing Div2 Amateurs. And as I was involved with the club at the time, and in my opinion won the flag himself that day. A real leader. Started preseason at Pt Adelaide. In my 30 yrs of senior footy I cant remember to many that trained harder than this bloke....No shit he is a machine if not a freak!!!!! And if im right still only around 25yrs old....If that?

I know he has connections with the Gatto boys, Hancock and Haughy as they played in the same div2 premiership. Heads and shoulders above those boys ability wise though....But interestingly I ran into him at Moonta when we played down there earlier this yr as they had the bye that week. He went and watched some of his childhood mates playing there from his Salis nth days...Always looking super fit to. I recon they got in his ear that day so wouldnt be suprised, if he does head to the YP thats where he will play....Great asset to any club and I wouldnt hesitate in recomending any club looking for quality character's in their recruiting to speak with him. Sure he will join his mates at Moonta though.

Certainly would take this comp by storm.....And his old man Daisy is a funny bugger to boot...
