Until they stop preparing disgusting pitches they will get flogged when ever they tour to England, Australia and South Africa which surprise in 100 plus years of Cricket consistently are the best performing sides in the history of the game and would not have the resources India can afford.

so we are allowed to produce fast bouncy pitches (at at least some of our grounds) but they are not allowed to produce big turners?

basically what you are arguing for is for pitches all around the world to be the same as in australia. the fact that you have to play on different surfaces and it is very hard to win away from home is part of the charm of test cricket imo.

now getting belted 4-0 or 3-0 doesn't make for great viewing, but they are hardly the first or last international cricket team to do that.

i mean we couldn't even beat pakistan. maybe we are fast track bullies?

I agree, the new "stand" looks terrible. Hardly fits in with what is right next to it with the timeless Members Pavillion.

won't be long until the members stand goes at sydney and it becomes another MCG, but i can't see that happening any time in adelaide

Good article, but quite frankly, it's everything many of us feared coming to fruition.

Batsman who can't build an innings, bowlers who have no patience to grind a batsman down, captains chopping and changing bowlers and fielders if they don't get a wicket every 3 overs.

the point in the article about the indians playing little or no first class cricket is the big issue there imo.

all forms of the game can coexist if it is balanced correctly. i think the scheduling in australia is almost perfect in that regard, save for the one day comp which i think could be mixed in with the shield again. but carving out blocks for each form is far from the worst thing to happen as it allows all cricketers to play all three forms.

Smith you can disregard, he had a sound first class record before the T20 explosion.

Warner and Lyon, it could be argued, would have played enough district or representative level "long form" cricket to have been exposed to the skills that make good Test cricketers.

As we all now, India run cricket, hopefully not into the ground.
