If BL paid players last year and won the flag i could compare to 2005 West Croydon flag where they didnt pay players. I know which one has earnt it more and therefore has the more respected premiership.
Does a club look more foolish if it pays players and doesnt the flag?

respect from whom? other clubs? if you have the flag you dont give a "rats toss bag" (thanks malcolm) who thinks what!

winners are winners and the rest can please themselves..

people need to realise its not amateur league anymore..and the rich get richer and the poor get the picture..ive won flags at paying and non paying clubs and i treasure those flags no matter who got what..and NO-ONE asks me if anyone was paid or not paid when we won it..we just won it

I think you will find the 22 that play couldnt care less the club supporters couldnt care less the rest of the footy world couldnt care less - if you win you win and you cant take that away from those involved or compare to how others do it

Also based on your last comment you assume then that there are 9 clubs in Div 1 that are foolish at least 8 in Div 2 - probably about 8 in Div 3 and so on :roll:

And to finish off with - if everyone wants to keep up the crap that not one person gets paid at all then you are living in a dream world as every club pays at least one player in some sort of way - incentives, base payments, getting them a job whatever - the key is to knowing what you can afford and sticking to it and perhaps not really caring about what other clubs do
