BOSFC v North Haven - Don’t know much about North Haven, but loss of Milikan and Parish for BOS worries me.
Hectorville v Adelaide Lutheran - Have heard Lutheran have recruited nicely.
Brahma Lodge v Rosewater - Brahma with a few quality Ins, Rosewater without Horshell.
Plympton v Elizabeth - Both teams with some good recruits, but Plympton missing Jimmy first up I believe and Elizabeth start well.
Hope Valley v Smithfield - Like what I hear out of Smithfield, but HV at home.

huge call that one considering you havent seen at least 4 of the teams and a lot of new recruits in other sides - but you gotta back yourself I suppose

I didn't get a real good look at it, I had other things I was attending to, it looked pretty even.

No, not your idea as silly, just the exercise of clubs, or club representatives, self tyre pumping about the fact that they do not pay players, like its some sort of 'off field victory' that they can put a great side on the park and not pay them. Its insane. Time wasting a plenty. Especially if it turns out that they are paying them, by way of sponsors. In my opinion if you have money in the budget for it, then responsibly go and do it. No big deal.
i think u will find that those stating non payment (LM, duncs and myself) were merely responding to implications they were and it seems people like to throw it out there early just in case you have a good year so the old so how much did that flag cost ya can come out proudly hehe ,for what its worth teams without juniors have to i think to progress up the div's and i dont see a problem whether you do or dont pay as long as you have a club structure that can support it and not destroy clubs as we have all seen in the past
Fair call. I just think it would be refreshing to hear a club say 'yeah we pay players, big deal'. Instead of all this garbage that we read on here and hear throught he grape vine.
The most important point here i think is the reason that most people don't believe there are clubs that aren't paying, is because there are definately clubs that are paying and they are saying that they are not. Makes it hard for those that actually don't pay to say they don't. having said that, does it make the club a better club if they don't pay? or for that matter if they do pay?
There are arguments for each. But my opinion is who cares! Whatever your doing, just do it, but DONT LIE ABOUT IT
IMO idont care if anyone pays or not and i damn well hope we (elizabeth) aren't paying anyone cos in my 17th year of playing now i havent seen a cent haha they better pay retrospectively i'd be up for a bit of coin
well i know one chap that was a former eagle that used to get looked after very nicely.think he was the skipper back then.

BOSFC - don't know anything about the teams
Heccies - they have to win to be a force like last year
Brahma - I'm loyal
Elizabeth - what a beauty round one, match of the round by a mile
Hope Valley - got a decent feeling this year about them

I'll go with,
Us over BF-It will be nice to play at Klemzig, our coach from last year SOD, who coaches Gaza's Reserves might come and have a look after their game. I so wanna see him again, not![]()
Lutheran over Hectoville
The Blodge over Rosewater
Elizabeth over plympton
Smithfield over Hope Valley
Triple Header that day TDK our C grade are playing Gaza after your A's.
Really, might stay and have a look. pity the triple header didn't go C's, B's then A's, I would of loved to start the season off with a twilight game. There will be a pretty good crowd there then.

Yeah mate where just hiding away looking forward to the season.
No jimmy for plympton. Could leave a bit of a hole for them he's a big focal point for them. they love to use him and he attracts a crowd when he gets near the footy. Elizabeth go in with the upper hand me thinks.

S Demon wrote:Why don't all the clubs across the whole amateur league sign some kind of treaty that states no club will pay players and any club caught doing so will be banned from the league for 12 months or something like that. That way we can weed out all the greedy "shop themselves around" players, the smaller struggling clubs will still be here in 10 years time and we can return to what this competion is actually called - South Australia AMATEUR Football League.
Imagine how much money could be saved across all the divisions and spent on other things around the clubs? It's not like we win prizemoney for winning flags, so why invest so much?
Just a thought...
wow...you will never stop it...its been going on for so long..from div 1 least to div 3 clubs will always pay players..you wont get anywhere unless you pay players..thats life get over it
