Mind you I've never held it against Port, I held it against the umps that never paid anything for it.
PS How's the bubs going? All is going well I hope.
Being edjamacated in the English langwidge I gather from your ewes of the double negative Wedgie that you approved the incident?
The only difference between the bump on Butcher and Gowans bump in the first quarter was that Butcher was stretcherd off and Gowans wasnt. But we dont remember that far back in the game do we.Port started all the aggression in the game and we finished it.
Gowans wasn't stretchered off (dogs01) because the man is above human...!!! He was in alot of pain but climbed above it, and walked off....!!!! This man will not lay on a stretcher...!!! He didn't see his bump coming either, but never made anything of it...! Respect the man..!! Respect the Brothers..!! If you are carried from the ground on a stretcher, your closest loved ones worry...!!! Always walk...!!!

Why do discussions like these always get down to "who started it?". It doesn't matter what the reason, nobody should condone McCabe's attack on Butcher. It should never be a part of football and the SANFL needs to send the message loud and clear that it won't tolerate such incidents. You are only entitled to bump a player if they are over the ball and you are attepting to relieve him of possession. You are not entiteld to bump a player when they are not involved in the play.
I have nothing against McCabe, he played for my AFL club Hawthorn for many seasons. I also have nothing against Central as I was hoping for them to defeat Port Adelaide yesterday. McCabe's actions may have been a brain fade, but he still did it and should be penalised.
at least you can do if your going to go in to detail calling Luke a coward at least know who it was in your team that was hit, are you sure you seen the incident

I think what dogs01 is trying to say is that there was a bump in the first quarter that was exactly the same. Ah Chee had no eyes for the ball and ran straight through Gowans who wasn't expecting it. And yes the only difference was that Gowans was not stretchered off. Why are we not condemning this incident? It was no different and no less dangerous. I don't condone what McCabe did and I said it at the time of the incident. However if McCabe goes then Ah Chee must too.
The umpires were the reason the game got out of control yesterday. They were totally useless.

First off Gowans was under the ball taking a mark. Gowans would have expected some contact, or at least the possibility of contact as you do when you sit under a ball like that. He would have braced himself accordingly. Looby was late and got penalised for it. Butcher wasnt involved in the play and was taken out by a cheap shot. Last time I checked, you werent allowed to pick off players at bounce downs/throw ins.
To say Gowans didnt make anything of it is pure crap. As usual he and his brother spent the rest of the first half looking for payback and, as usual, spent half their time whinging and abusing the umpires when their cheap shots behind the play were picked up and penalised.

Its a shepherd. It was in play, Gowans was within one metre of the ball carrier. Completely different to picking someone off at a ball up when the balls in mid air.

I was at the game and the only time i saw a centrals fan run towards the "incident" was to pull wharfie scum off of our players. Their fans are an absolute disgrace, have a look at the sunday mail and tell me which clubs supporters were involved.
As for the bump I dont know what game FA was watching yesterday if he thinks his team would never take a man down out of the contest. Only difference is the wharfies seemed to have the umpires on their side yesterday, but I guess maggots stick together.
