Aussies should cruise from here, they should smash the Saudis in Australia and Oman should be a walk in the park.
Yeah not good. Only need a point from our last 2 games though. Would like to think we can nab a point of the Thai's tomorrow

Me too. Taking 8 weeks off work. Are you going with a tour? Looking at going solo but open to the option of touring with the Fanatics
Same, will be taking 8 weeks off and doing 4 in Brzil and 4 in US.. I just want to get a pass to go to all Aussie group games and then look at getting tickets to the quarters or semis, if Aussies make it past the group stage then it will be hectic to get tickets. I know fanatics do heaps of different packages so i will definitely be researching. At this stage there is only me and a few other mates but trying to get as many on board as possible

FIFA has overuled Brazil and declared that beer must be sold at WC. Brazil has been a "Dry Zone" at all sporting events since 2003 due to alcohol fuelled violence, they were hoping the 2014 WC would also be alcohol free but FIFA has stepped in and overuled.
I just hope someone other than Budweiser jump on the sponsorship bandwagon. South Africa was plastic bottles at ridiculously inflated prices compared to the local bars.
Having said that it was still cheaper than a Red Death here so I didn't complain too much!
We didn't tour with the Fanatics at all but they were pretty strict on the travel regime and had no intention of staying past the group stages so the ones we spoke to were all flying out whether we qualified for the round of 16 or not. In the end we stayed 5 weeks in SA compared to the Fanatics 2 and a bit and would have paid less for accommodation than we would have on the Fanatics tour and that included renting a van, Nelson Vandela, for the duration.
I recommend doing it on your own or with a small group, we had 7 main starters and always met up with another group at each game.

I plan to get to Brasil!!
Reckon your right about a small group, did it solo in Japan and it was a bit of a nightmare but did Germany with a small group and it was awesome. We found good priced accomadation and caught trains or cheap flights for longer distances but hired a car for the majority. I was designated driver because i can understand a bit of German, wicked stretch of Autobahn from Frankfurt to Kaiserslautern, poor little Opel rent a car would only do 180 and my mates were pissing themselves laughing when old grannies in their mercs were overtaking us. Couldnt get to South Africa but definately going to Brazil. Probably fly to Santiago with LAN
AUS 4-2 SAUDI ARABIA Australia scored 3 goals in 4 minutes. Great to see Bresciano back and pulling the strings as usual, massive boost for us. Saudi's knocked out after Oman beat Thailand 2-0
Zelezny Chucks wrote:Surely these groups would have to be seeded?
IIRC last time the groups don't play each other to decide qualification?
Yes there is seedings done for stage 4. You only play the sides in your own group. 2 groups of 5, teams play home and away, top 2 from each group go to WC. The 2 3rd placed sides play each other h&a and the winner plays the 5th placed South American side for a spot in WC.
