Re: Hogg Division III 2010
Division III Finals Week One
Qualifying Finals
(Winners to Preliminary Final, Losers to play against Elimination Final winners)
1. Cork in the Ocean vs. 4. Marion ManBearPigs
2. Boonga’s Bulldogs vs. 3. Straycat Strut
Cork in the Ocean has a bit of a hiccup last week but now the finals are here it should be normal service resumed in the clash against the ManBearPigs who have also had a good season. In the other double chance final I reckon the Strutties might upset Boongas Bullies because as everyone knows when it comes to finals Cats own Dogs every time ha ha. Strutties to sneak one in.
Elimination Finals
(Winners to play against losers of Qualifying Finals, Losers OUT)
5. lodge lads ‘10’ vs. 8. Browny’s Boys
6. Toolman vs. 7. Lioneaters
The lads have been better over the whole season and accounted for Browny comfortably earlier in the year but the Boys are on a roll and they’ll knock lodgey out of the comp this weekend. Toolman will prove to be too strong for the Lioneaters who will have to hang their hat on the win over Corky last week.
Relegation Finals
(Losers to be relegated to the ‘Pool’)
13. Year of the Tiger vs. 16. TheWorstThereIs
14. Onegameatatimers vs. 15. Strawbsberries
Not too much to write about here. Worsties get relegated no matter what divvy he ends up in so he’s about to dive into the pool regardless of how crummy Tige is. Tige has had a few games where he has gone Ok but he won’t need to be at his best to win this one. Onegamers are now needing to win that Onegame and he should be able to pick Strawbsberries to stay out of the Pool.

Re: Hogg Division III 2010
Finals Week One
Qualifying Finals
Marion ManBearPigs 2126 d. Cork in the Ocean 2036
Straycat Strut 2029 d. Boongas Bulldogs 1863
Cork in the Ocean joined the list of minor premiers that came to grief this weekend as the ManBearPigs scored the upset win in fine style. The ManBearPigs are in a good spot needing only one more win to be promoted to Division II next season. My Strutties got up in a rematch with the Bullies who cleaned me up last week in my only win for the weekend.
Elimination Finals
Browny's Boys 2060 d. lodge lads '10' 1961
Lioneaters 1899 d. Toolman 1856
Browy continued on his late season winning run to end the lodge lads' season (and earnt himself a carton of piss I believe) and the Lioneaters saluted in a low quality final to stay in the jungle for another week.
Relegation Finals
Year of the Tiger 1639 d. TheWorstThereis 864
Onegameatatimers 1519 d. Strawbsberries 1477
Year of the Tigers and Onegameatatimers' victories have ensured that they will be invited to participate in Division III next season with Worsties and Strawbs likely to drop into Division V as their rankings are low and they are in 'The Pool'.

that makes it even better... your only win! my second worst score of all time in the first week of finals...
contrastingly i only won one game against a bloke who had 18 fit players... ridiculous, but i guess that's what the double chance is about
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

Re: Hogg Division III 2010
I'm happy with that win, a top effort by the boys. I thought the coach had messed it up when I neglected to check the final teams on friday & leave Higgins on with no emergency... A win is a win tho. So i'm putting the feet up & resting the trade finger for the week.

Massive relief for the Onegameatatimers not being relegated. Especially after my drunken rave on the phych out forum at the start of the season

Re: Hogg Division III 2010
least i was competitive this year and next year it should be a lot better with a couple of duds going down, think this div was a lot harder then people think the top four were in the top 16 for points so good luck to the rest of the coaches left

Division III Semi Finals
(Winners to Preliminary Final, Losers OUT)
1. Cork in the Ocean vs. 8. Browny’s Boys
2. Boonga’s Bulldogs vs. 7. Lioneaters
Browny has been on fire in recent weeks but I can’t see them getting past Corky who have been huge all season long. If Corky were to bomb out in straight sets that would rate as one of the biggest chokes (A CoverKing loss would be hard to top in terms of choking however) in the Hogg Shield this season. Corky will bounce back and Browny’s brave run will come to an end this week. In the other Semi Boonga’s poor form last week was too bad to be believed and frankly Lioneaters aint that good!

Semi Finals
Brownys Boys 2382 d. Cork in the Ocean 2280
Boongas Bulldogs 2230 d. Lioneaters 2001
Brownys Boys smashed the seemingly unbeatable Corky by over a hundred points to continue on their giant killing ways. I feel sorry for whoever plays them next week. As Browny says above, his team is primed at the right time of the year and is looking like a Division II side at the moment. In the other semi the Bulldogs outclassed the Lioneaters who went about as far as they could go. While the Lioneaters can be reasonably satisfied with a top six finish Corky must be gutted after going out in straight sets.

Actually it's a bit weird, but not too upset about it.
Probably because the team is still alive in the Cash League
