Unfortunately for you Legs you will have to play there too as the precedence has been set. I believe Loby tried to get the game shifted to Mt Pleasant but to no avail due to a "condemned canteen" (so cook on BBQs?) and costs??

There is precedence of the HFL declaring footy ovals unfit to play on too...

Yes it is unfortunately the case which i hope doesn't destroy the match.

Apparently it is a $500 cost each time - just to use the MP oval.

The previous posts re MT Torrens oval have not instilled much hope for what we will encounter - and it's a long drive back to Echunga for a hot shower.

Barossa league would be a good option for them in 2015 and solve a few problems for the HFL. :D

So Echunga have a great finals series and win the flag but get relagated. The clubs again at season's end vote for the system.

Vote Predictor : 19-1

Sorry " afterthesiren" couldn't resist.

If only they had a builder as a major sponsor who was willing to put some money into the club so they could upgrade the canteen. :)

Echunga have done a lot of work in the off season to ensure a good surface even after heavy rain.

There are obviously lots of factors that come in to play with oval condition e.g. home games 2 weeks in a row, amount of rain day prior games etc etc.

Not condemning TV for this - but lets hope the showers are hot for all grades.

Hey Cracka - that's a good idea getting a builder to fix the MT Pleasant problems.

Maybe the finances are going to other areas of the club though?

BL&G don't want them. Not enough junior teams or netball sides to start with

This weeks tips:
Unfortunately Torrens Valley should be too strong for Onkas to keep finals chances alive.
Bridgey v Blackwood very interesting - flip of the coin, 5th spot up for grabs. Perhaps Blackwood???
Echunga v Barker also a great game - Barker to potentially lose their 3rd straight game by 1pt.
Lobey to get back on the winners list v the Maggies
Uraidla should be too strong for Ironbank

If results go this way, Lobey moves back to 2nd after 6wks of poor footy. While Blackwood could go 2 games clear in 5th. Interesting weekend ahead.

Looks like the 5 is set with Blackwood winning at Bridgy, and IB and TV also going down. Lobey thumped Hahndorf by 20 goals. (43 shots to just 9). Mt B over Echunga.

Don't know if participating in 3 rounds of mud wrestling and 3-4 games of footy will be enough to get O'Sullivan the medal. He didn't feature in the best on Saturday either. Great work by the doggies, would've been a great atmosphere in front of club rooms.

Absolutely loved the very pointed article in the Final Siren on Saturday regarding ovals, well done HFL, hope you can make these Clubs accountable.

It appears this coming Saturday the "battle for the spoon" will take place at Pine Ave..... 2 proud clubs, but there can only be one winner!

I'm tipping the magpies to take the wooden spoon for 2014..... would be a long time since that has happened?!?
