Ended up proving us wrong . Finally holed out for 77 getting the target for the Poms to 251. Need a couple of poles before stumps and it's game on

FFS retire hurt or face up.
Ive got the solution to slow over rates
Start fining the umpires!!
Theyre a disgrace the way they let the poms take over a minute between balls

Our batsmen will rightly cop most of the heat if we lose but geez our bowling has been woeful at times too

Re: Ashes 2023
Fitness permitting Woakes and Wood will surely play in the forth and fifth tests and it'll be interesting to see if Broad will be rested at some stage. Tongue was unlucky to be dropped and is probably next in as there's no way England can select Anderson again especially after the performance of Woakes in this match but I feel as though England may give Anderson his swan song at Old Trafford.Lightning McQueen wrote:Gee we were lucky Wood and Woakes didn’t play in the first two tests, throw Archer in there and their bowling stocks look very healthy.
I still don't think we will see Archer play test cricket again.
England 0/27 at stumps, need 224 to win.
Some lusty hitting from Head, 77 (112) has given Aus a chance.

Re: Ashes 2023
Batting will cost us here, about 50 runs too short.
Changes needed at the top of the order in particular
Think they will target Cummins tonight, should be over half way through day depending on weather

Re: Ashes 2023
If England win this match I don't think Anderson will come back. They need to win all 3 matches to reclaim the Ashes. If we win another or draw then they probably will for the last. Wood is only a short spell bowler but Wood, Woakes, Broad, Tongue is a lot more formidable than including Anderson and Robinson. The Dark Knight wrote:Fitness permitting Woakes and Wood will surely play in the forth and fifth tests and it'll be interesting to see if Broad will be rested at some stage. I think we are a bit short but Stokes is the key. If we actually have a plan when we bowl to him then we might have a chance.

Re: Ashes 2023
Yes, I don’t think Archer’s body is up to it, I guess they’re not overly concerned as they are currently the World Cup holders of 2 out of the 3 formats and their team changes quite dramatically between the 3.The Dark Knight wrote:Fitness permitting Woakes and Wood will surely play in the forth and fifth tests and it'll be interesting to see if Broad will be rested at some stage. I don’t think they’ll rest Broad, as well as Wood and Woakes bowled when the job needed to be done it was Broad who did it.

He won’t on this postage stamp, if they go him they will have 20% of the runs required in 6-7 overs.tigerpie wrote:Agreed. Didn't make enough.locky801 wrote:Batting will cost us here, about 50 runs too short.

Don't think we have enough but a couple of early wickets and the pressure is on them big time.
Looks like a pitch bison will bowl well on
