Not sure if it has been posted on here.
But I just saw these 2 links on the SANFL thread.
Hamley losing 4 of their best players
Stribling, Duncan and Thach to Kaniva-Leeor FC

Those 3 + that Seb that are going to kaniva, there weekly payments would be $4,000 a week on just those 4 players! hardly worth it in my opinion.

Depends on how much more money they have to spend.. There is a lot of money going around the KNTFL, so I wouldn't be surprised if they have another $4000 a week for more players

It's yet to be seen whether it was worth it for Hamley though.. sure they have an A Grade premiership to their name but we'll have to wait and see what happens with the club over the next 5 to 10 years to make a proper assessment

I would like to wish these guys all the best with their footy next year. I along with others on here are normally quick to attack players that come and go but they have had a huge impact on the club and are a great bunch of guys on and off the field. There's been a lot of talk about players leaving the league but not too much talk about the players coming in. Any confirmed names?

You don't have a good word to say about many players do ya snags. Arguably 2 of the top 4 players in APFL last season to a (without seeing any football) lesser comp, that is a great get for kaniva.

I don't think he's being that harsh.. IMO no single player is worth over $1000 a game in country football (maybe in a very extreme case) Gilhaus would be the only one worth 1K a game because he's a quality ruckman which are extremely hard to come by. Of the other 3, Stribling would be the only one you could debate would be worth 1K a game but finding good midfielders is not that hard in comparison to every other position.. All are quality players but personally I wouldn't be paying $1000 a game for them.. Just my opinion

Didn't say a bad thing about any of these players. Just stating that I think that's a lot of $$ being thrown around.

Well you made up a $$ amount that they "would" be on. Then went on to say that they are hardly worth it. Stribling would be one of the best mids going around outside the sanfl IMO. Duncan wouldn't be far off stribs either.

So when is everyone kicking off their pre season?
I know Two Wells had a few solid runs before the new year and start back up next week on the 12th.
United also had a few runs before the new year I hear aswell.

To be perfectly honest I reckon I underestimated what they would be on knowing that Seb hasn't played for a country team for less then $1800 a game in the last 5 years. And you speak so highly of stribling so add another $1k minimum on top and I actually rate Duncan really highly probably just as much as stribling so he would be similar to stribs I would imagine so there you go. Add thach to that and you are over the $4k I was estimating.
when I say they are hardly worth it, I mean it as no one is worth that much when it comes to country football. Nothing personal.

See the ex Hamley boys not doing too bad in the NTFL, a little out of their depth in the premier league
