Yeah, especially if you've already brought the issue up with them, and they've done nothing to fix it.
Oh don’t worry, the prick knows.
Last place I lived the neighbours had two dogs that would bark continuously while I sat out on the back verandah, I would then go and bang the fence yelling "shut the f*** up" to which the neighbours would let their dogs inside, so of course they're never gonna stop doing it.

One day I was getting my car serviced and worked from home, they thought no one was home so they were tormenting our dog and mimmicking me while standing on chairs looking over the fence, they absolutely shat when I walked outside and questioned what they were doing.

Another time I could their 16 year old son trying to razz our dog up, I went outside and he bolted inside but didn't realize his sliding door was shut, ran straight through the glass, fair mess and ambulance involved.

If I may add something to this query, what if you have a holiday booked and you get called up, can you defer for a month or until after you trip, or do you have to make yourself available?

Rock up to the interview, and immediately announce that they're guilty, I had a dream about it.

Reckon you won't be asked back after that.

Yep, letter in the mail from the Sheriffs office.
Looking forward to it to be honest!

So much could happen. It could be anything from fascinating to horrifying or it could be extremely disruptive to your life or no impact at all.

I'd love to do it to see the procedure and protocols, I'm very procedure driven so I'd like to see the machinations of the court room play out in front of me.

( I did in 2023 when a former family member was sentenced but that wasn't any fun at all )

Of all the people I’ve known who have done it (my brother-in-law has been called up twice  ), they mostly have said the same thing … extremely disruptive and a pain in the arse.

You are typically on standby for say, a month or so, which means you could be called up or not at all. If you’re allocated a case, it could be 1 or 2 days or for weeks. You are paid, but it’s a token amount in no way befitting the total disruption to your life.

One of my daughters and her boyfriend are lawyers, so just going to Supreme Court when she was admitted to the Bar was enough for me.

Good luck, see how you go. Dunno, you may like it.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Did it 2 years ago. I copped a quiet month with not many cases. Had one where we are about to pooled (about 30-40 ppl and 12 randomly get chosen) for a rape case. The guy pled guilty at the last minute so was lucky to not have to sit through it.

On the last day of the month, we got one and i was chosen to be on the jury. Was a robbery case so wasn't too bad. I was the one to read out the verdict though which was actually quite confronting

Someone I used to work with was in the same situation. After a bit of negotiation, they were allowed to defer and go on their holiday.

Yes, i deferred to a different month when i did it as i had something on. Could have got out of it all together but I wanted to experience it. Work is accommodating so they paid me even when i was there

Rock up wearing a tie with a noose pattern on it. That should do the trick.

Just looked it up, they only give you $20 per day plus 95c per km travel to and from the court. Legislation covers the employers responsibility to continue to pay you for only the first 10 days. Hmmm this could be a hassle now that I think about it.
