Aussies having a crap time in the IPL this year apart from Mitch Marsh who is on fire and Mitch Starc who starterd the tournament off well but is now getting pasted all over the park

Head. JFM, Stonis, doing SFA with the bat although I think Trav will come back with vengance now the Air has arrived in India ;)

Glenn Maxwell: 9 single digits in last 12 innings in the IPL including 5 ducks says it all.

Cummins going for an average of 13 and over and even Hazelwood now getting tonked from pillar to post

Easy way i guess of making a few million for nothing really

Classic IPL match last night between Sunrisers and the Punjab Kings

Kings batted first scoring an imposing 6/245 helped by 34* off 11 from Stoinis, hitting the last 4 balls of the innings for 6.
Maxwell failed again 3 off of 7 balls before having his stumps spreadeagled trying a reverse sweep off the opening bowler

Cummins again smashd all over the park but then again most were

Sunrisers got off to a flyer, Trav Head getting 66 from 37 as per my last post he would get going this game) in an opening partnership of 171 in 12 overs.

Sunrisers getting the win ending up 2/247 after 18.2 Abhishek 141 off of 55 the main stay

Interesting incident between Trav and Maxwell when Maxwell fired the ball back to the keeper just missing Trav, words spoken and couldnt hear what was said but didnt appear very friendly, Words continued and then Stoinis came in and stoood face to face with Trav, further words obviously being shouted between the two as Maxwell made his way down the pitch, Umpires ended up having to step in and separate Trav and Stoinis, didnt look like banter either

Not sure what it was all about as the ball missed Trav by 2 metres.

There was

Only one Aussie involved being M. Marsh for LSG.

Marsh scored 30 off of 25 however LSG beaten by CSK by 5 wickets

MS Dohni MOM

Another poor performance by the aussies with the bat

Kings all out for 111 in the 16th

Inglis 2 off 6, should have been out 2nd ball for 0 going for reverse sweep, didnt matter lost his middle stump to Varun a few balls later
Maxwell 7 off 10, also bowled middle stump by Varun, not sure how Maxwell keeps getting a game, his IPL average 2024-2025 is 6.6
Bartlett 11 off of 15

111 proved to be enough to win as they bowled KKR out for 95 in the 16 over
Maxwell and Bartlett a wicket each

Of note very animated conversation between coach Ponting and player Stoinis out on the ground prior to the start, looked a tad firey and Stoinis not a happy chappy, of note Stoinis dropped for this game which is surprising as least he has been scoring some runs

First tie and super over of the season between the Capitals & Royals scoring 188 each

JFM again failed for the Capitals getting 9 off 6 before being caught in the covers (again)
Mitch Starc taking 1/36 off his 4 for the Capitals

Starc picked up MOM with the last over of normal play which was Starc at his best, Capitals were down and out until tghat final over.

JFM in the super over brilliant work in the outfield to get a run out from nothing

Great game last night

Remember when T20 first started, all up and go, fast moving, game oevr in about 3.5 hours.

These days goes over 4 hours, 2 breaks during each innings, review after review and now to make things even worse

umpire's gauge test for bats, which the BCCI has implemented in the ongoing IPL season

Quite simply come out to bat and the umpire gets you to put your bat through some device, if it fits you are right to go, if not, off you trundle to get another bat

Why can’t the 3rd umpire check their bats before they go out?

Mumbai 6/166
Cummins 3/26 (4) his best bowling of this series by a long shot
