Geelong, done?

With the talent they have you would think they would bounce back.

Watched a bit of their game on the weekend, the way that GC moved the ball against them would be a worrying sign.

The worries were:
-Their inside 50 efficiency was the worst of any club this round as well......which is a worry given their star power up forward.
- Smashed 39-23 at clearances admittedly the combination of Witts, Miller, Rowell, Anderson is quality and should win clearances most weeks.
-Lost the contest possesion 145-121
-Had more tackles than GC but only 5 inside 50 tackles versus the GC's 14.....i imagine Geelong's forward line pressure is normally good and that was one of the reasons the GC were able to move the ball so easily.

Positives for them were:
-More tackles
-More intercept possessions (helps having Stewart back)
-Less turnovers

Nope.
Their first game in Geelong isn’t until round 6 but they will win most if not all down there and collect some other wins along the way. Still have them as finals certainties

Agree but a Cameron injury would really hurt them.

That desire to play on the edge to set up defensively, win the contested possession, spread to create forward options is not there to the same degree and more importantly forward pressure to create midfield turnover is gone.

Hawkins, great career but he's either playing injured or the fire is out, has become conditional in his efforts.

Danger lost his impact. Toohey and Rohan just getting half the job done.

Still all good footballers but the mountain has been climbed and the view has been good from the top, take one good look around boys as you deserved it.

From 2017 Adelaide, Collingwood, Port, GWS, Sydney and Brisbane would love to have what you've got.

100% agree on Danger at the stats probably point to exactly what you've said.

-2023 average 21 possies a game, career average 23.
-13 contested possesions a game which is considered 'elite'
-5.3 clearances a game which is equal to his career average and is considered 'above average'
-Metres gained 390.6 which 18m down on his career average and he is currently considered 'above average'

Where he is lacking is his score involvements down to the average 4.3 vs a career average of 6.5 considered 'elite'

Agree though Rohan is having a break out year if he’s getting half the job done this year.
