I think you will find that a quote was supplied for freestanding straight aluminum goals but a cheaper nastier alternative was agreed upon. Might still be waiting on the substantial grant on it's way from Ireland?? Money better spent on the large water blowing fan??

We have proposed Kilburn as an alternate venue for the past two years which could allow greater participation from the north and more importantly all Sunday games. The facilities at this ground are second to none and the longer we wait for this mystical grant from Ireland the longer the growth of the game will be held up

Why is the ladder not updated regularly on Gaelic football SA website? It's still on Feb last year and is always way behind.
Just thought it would be updated more as it is what we supposedly play for ...

I've been keeping one with some goal differences as well (after a slow day at work a couple of weeks a go).

Agree totally with the new goal posts not being up to scratch, they look more like a piece of abstract art (or the angry art Homer Simpson makes) than Gaelic goals. And the lack of line marking is confusing – but perhaps more confusing is why it hasn’t been fixed yet? I’m yet to meet (or even see) the new groundsman, does he have the knowledge of what needs to be done?

With the legendary Normy gone, and the previous groundsman not involved, id expect there to be HUGE GAP of knowledge in what needs to be done to setup St Marys correctly?

The 9:15pm graveyard shift is a bit of a shocker, the only reason I assume its around is coz come summer playing at 2:30pm on the Sunday wont be possible in 45 degree weather. Perhaps the 9:15pm slot could be shelved pre Christmas, but came out after Christmas when its hotter?

Or what are peoples thoughts on the idea of playing State league matches on Wednesday nights? Move the Gaelic7s to the Tuesday or something, and play 2 matches Weds night, 2 x Friday night, and 2 x Sunday night – or turf the Friday night all together and 2 on Weds and 4 on Sunday or something?

Re: lack of crowds – in my 5-7ish years playing Gaelic (and for South Adelaide’s entire lifespan at Panther Park) there has never been much of a crowd at the mens matches! The women’s fixtures seem to be able to attract a crowd however, so they must be doing something right.

On the new bar system, im a fan of it, love not having to hang around and threaten players to do match officials after the game.

On the field (finally) surely this has been an improvement, every match we have played (and ive seen) has been at 15aside? Has anyone played 13s? Also some very handy players this year, including a huge Irish influence. Wristy pretty sure one of your Irishmen played for Queensland at the Australasian championships?

When has St. marys ever been 45 degrees??? 9.15 Friday games have got to go and it will be discussed at tonights meeting as will the idea of a family friendly area at St.Marys club rooms and the idea of making the club rooms look more like the centre of Gaelic Football over summer.

However with us continually being in the graveyard, we have not seen these people enjoying a spot of gaelic.
I don't see why the 9:15 time wasn't evenly distributed between each team...

This Friday night will see the first initiative of improving St.Marys for players , spectators , family and friends.

BBQ on WHEELS will be present most Friday nights. Whilst im not certain of the exact menu things like BBQ products, steak sandwiches and the like as well as tea,coffee and hot drinks can be purchased. The quality is good and the variety and price are also very reasonable.

I implore people to try and make a purchase here and there and make the venture worth the business while or quite simply it wont last. Knowing there is the oppurtunity to purchase dinner and food for kids surely should help attendances. So go say g,day and support a business that is trying to support Gaelic Football.
