I felt like the selectors tried have an even spread from all teams rather than picking the best players

Re: SAAFL Division 4 2013
are these the actual positions they would play if they had to or just the best players of the year

Looking at all the TOY's I think that more than just a few of those selected would have multi tasked in different positions as needs dictated on the day.

Re: SAAFL Division 4 2013
Don't doubt that Cohiba. My point is, here is a guy (Aish) who has kicked 24 goals for the season playing most of the year forward and on the ball. Why pick him on half back? No doubt he could play a role there in a game where this team was assembled together. You either justify an individuals selection in there proper position, or don't pick them.
I for one would definatley have him in the team. Just not there. This has probably resulted due to the selectors going for an 'even spread' across the clubs. Let nothing be taken away from the guys that have been named though.
Another example would be Steele from Brahma. 21 Votes in the medal playing as a midfielder and 2nd in his club BnF. Spry gets one vote in the medal for the team that finished bottom. Spry may have well been Greenacres best player this year. IMO he was but it seems Steele has been left out as the selectors felt they could not pick more than 3 from any one club. The 3 picked from Brahma could not be denied there positions so a very deserving player is missed.
The good thing about these sorts of things though is the discussion they create!

I agree that the selection does allow for debate... Steele was stiff as was Jarrad Rantassa-Clark...I guess a case could have been also made for guys like Paul Wooton Peter Lovell , as well as host of defenders such as Patrick Johns, Jon Floereani, Brett Sparrnon, Dave Walliford and Patrick Johns who all had a great season and would have been worthy of selection. Still not a bad line up...
