Re: HFL Division 1 (Central)
Nairne are up and about, but dont read too much into it yet. I recall Lobey being soundly beating during the year last season - once by Hahndorf, and still came good at the right time.
Nairne convincingly beaten in R1 v Hahndorf, lets see how they go at the end of the season, but it certainly makes it an interesting comp.

Believe Lobey had 3 big names out according to the Call of the Wild. Reilly was one but can't remember the other 2

Re: HFL Division 1 (Central)
Not sure 3 players make up 17 goals. Hahndorf still comfortably the team to beat though, but how many sides would have beaten Uraidla and then Lobethal back to back by 100 odd points? Other than Hahndorf? They’d be stoked with 2-1 after drawing last years top 3 first up and 2 away.
Very interesting to see who makes up the other 4 spots in the 5 though, it’s as open as it has been for a long time in div 1!

The other two must be big names

Massive amount of outs didn't help coming off of a 4 day break against Blackwood (still almost got over the line), showed a little bit in the 3rd qtr against Hahndorf but obviously they were too strong overall. Lobethal this week doesn't help.

Re: HFL Division 1 (Central)
Never heard of him? Can’t be that much of a loss…
Barker have their backs against the wall, but at least expectation is low so there’s no failure for them really. They’re doing well so far to hold things together.
Anyone watch Onkas regularly? They seem to have improved and haven’t seen O’Brien high in their best yet, how is he going?
Absolute joke he didn’t win b2b mail medals when he was last here. Best player in the comp by a long way.

Going to be a nightmare getting into Balhannah oval on Saturday. Redoing the mains water line by the look of it, right at the southern entrance which is the only one with 2 way traffic

Few interesting results this week!
Barker were up all day I hear and Blackwood came home with a wet sail? To be expected coming off a 4 day break and a long injury list for the Roos, they’re still having a crack.
Onkas beat Lofty at heathfield was surprising for me!
Ironbank nearly notched up their first win at Echunga as well… Maybe they aren’t that far off? Great to see them competing.
Hahndorf just on cruise control already.
Comp looks super even, just who will challenge Hahndorf?
Lofty had some genuine key position lads out. Kicking at goal was Crows-like in the end. SHOULD be up there at their best.
Nairne hey?! Tops start. Got to admire that.
As for the coach loss, surely that’s a walk out? How could you fire a bloke so soon?

Re: HFL Division 1 (Central)
Oh I see. I had lofty in the 5 for my ladder prediction. They’ve improved every year for the last few and have a one of the better coaches in the competition IMO. Harry Weeks one of the best in the league I believe as well.
Nairne surprising, tipped them to improve again. Lobethal have fallen back a bit but I suspect them and Uraidla still to be right up there.
Not a huge loss for Ironbank from what I’ve heard….

No goal kicking training at Lofty again by the looks, won’t win games kicking 4 goals. Hahndorf, no better for accuracy.

Re: HFL Division 1 (Central)
Watched Onkas v iron raiders today. Bit sloppy but onkas far too good with a few key names missing including O’Brien.
Bawden needs to do some goal kicking training at Heathfield by the looks. Hahndorf a class above…
Has anyone watched Blackwood? They seem in a hole….
Heard Nairne did a demolition job on Echunga. Think the demons are in strife.

Ironbank (There's more Encounter bay blokes then bridgey so I decline to call it iron raiders) had there best player Grigg and skipper Morgan out. All teams always have players out. Onkas were a class above and with O' Brien back in should certainly be a top 5 side. Nairne really are building nicely and might just be the biggest threat to Hahndorf. Reckon the final ladder might be as below;
Hahndorf
NB
Uraidla
Onkas
Lobethal
Lofty
Barker
Blackwood
Echunga
IB
Bottome 3 are probably a fair way off the mark. Blackwood got a bit lucky to play Barker when they did
