Tribe broadcast , I am wondering how many bottom of the table games have been called ?

I hear the 2 division proposal is gaining ground ? :-J

What's the proposal?

Southern & Hills Superleague - 30 teams, 3 divisions, promotion/relegation ;)

And no salary cap or APPS. :supz:

.

Messenger article this week indicated juniors staying with MSJFL and U18 for SFL for 2016. There would have to be serious doubts about their ability to fill and U18 team and therefore no Saturday juniors AGAIN. Will Townies pull the pin on SFL or will SFL clubs vote them out.

I heard yesterday SFL are having meetings with club reps about another future directions discussion.

Anyone want to take a bet that nothing will come of it? Or the SFL will bow to the weaker clubs again

How's this lads, apparently a Christies U/18s player was yellow carded last week for the 3rd time for the season which attracts an automatic 2 week suspension. Christies decided to appeal the third yellow card and the appeal was meant to be heard last Thurday night. Apparently the lad in question was to sick to attend (played yesterday) so it has been postponed until Tuesday. The reporting umpire and the umpires delegate apparently where not informed of the change and turned up Thursday night after having both made personal sacrifices to attend.
Disgraceful lack of respect and communication by the red coats yet again, and apparently not even an apology from the buffoon's!

2 things not surprising about this post.

1. The Maroon coats failing to actually action something and sitting on their arses in the Tribe fm van which is all they seem to care about.

2. Another young thug allowed to come through the ranks at Christies Beach. I must say i am very surprised The Saints allow these blokes to stay around and dont kick them out of the club. They have great numbers and shouldn't tolerate peanuts like this. I have a son that goes to school with some Beach boys and he tells me that every Monday morning when all the boys are chatting about footy, all the Beach boys can talk about.is the fights they got in with opposition etc.

Our ground reached breaking point during the day so things were pretty sloppy from the Under 18's onwards. Mainly the centre wicket with some chopped up areas around the ground but blokes were still kicking decent distances and plenty of marks in the hands were taken.

It wasn't so much our bad kicking. I could only recall 2 shots that should have been goals taking into account the conditions but Flaggies couldn't miss from set shots and also had a few balls that skidded through after clearing the pack. If Flaggies kick a still accurate 7-4 instead of 9-2 we win, but we did give up a 10 point lead early in the last quarter so we had our chances.

What the last few weeks proves is that the Premiership race is wider open than what we thought back in June.

Can't get more accurate than 7-0. A good effort from our U16's compared to their previous FH encounter. More than half the team were heading off on a ski trip or playing a big volleyball tournament later that day so they could have been excused for being distracted or playing bruise free for fear of injury. Good to see closely fought junior games where the lads just want to play footy without any young "wannabes" running around. Same for the thrilling U18 game.

Certainly getting tight for 4th spot in the 16's, Noarlunga looked like the team to take it before the weekend and had been hitting some good form, but got smashed by Christies on the weekend which was surprising.

Few clubs looking for coaches next season with quite alot experience leaving the league - Earl, Wallace, Mitton, Crate supposedly already notifying their clubs.

Is there experienced/quality coaches out there willing to join the SFL?

wow! If true there is some bloody good coaches there. Surprised to see Wallace's name there i would have thought he would stay and build something at Valley. As for the word 'experienced' coaches there are still a few around but maybe some clubs can look outside the square and take a risk on new blood. FLAGGIES are a great example of this, Rod Mitchell may have been looked at as a risk but jeez it is paying off big time. Reynella are the same.

names out there are: Pilmore, Irvine, Gary Cameron (leaving Mc Vale at seasons end), Clay Sampson (leaving Pongy)

Maybe a poor choice of word. Basically lads between the age of 16 and 18 that think a game of footy is an opportunity to trash talk their opponent or believe that being fairly tackled or bumped is invading their personal space so gives them the right push and shove (or worse) in return etc. etc.

The irony is - these are often the lads that won't put their own head over the ball or will let an opponent run past them so they can apply the tackle rather than try and win the ball themselves.

Having said that, no major problems with the U16 and U18 comps in recent years, but still a few clubs who don't do enough to discourage poor behavior.

The thing that does make me laugh is that officials and parents watch their team every week and watch the aggressive behavior of their team or certain players and put it down to good tough footy, but as soon as one of their players is on the receiving end of "good tough footy" they cry foul. There are some big rose coloured glasses being worn by some.

On Another note. Not much has been said about the race for finals and how not so 'clear cut' it is this year. Is anyone brave enough to predict a top 4 let alone top 8. One thing the ladder does indicate though is that i do not think we can argue that the Comp has become a little more evenly spread this year.
