Its hard getting numbers out full stop. a couple of years ago we did about 13,000 white pages and the same yellow, this year we are doing about 8000 of each.
LM we just want people out there even if its for an hour lol its hard getting anyone out. We are hoping to get 3 crews of 5 out on sat/sun on the weekend yellow pages begin and then we will just have the business' to do after that! BUt knowing our club, that wont happen.
whitepages around 11 500 yellow pages around 10 000

We done the white pages, after a couple of hours we started getting the excuses. We were quoted to only have to do 2300 for our areas, it ended up being 3306 once I finish off this afternoon when I knock off. We didn't really know what to expect and each group had different methods, we went in teams of 3, I'm still unsure of the best method if we end up doing the yellow pages. The most annoying part is going back and doing shops and hospitals etc. during the week.

Do you start off with heaps of helpers then dwindle down as the day goes on, how many books do you do??
As bazza said WYC find it hard getting lots of numbers out the same people do a large chunk of it each year.
We have done the same area for the last 10 years and we do about 11-12k of each white and yellow pages every year.
As much of a pain as it is, it earns the club a very good amount of money.
How many cars and walkers do you have and how long does it take to do that many?
Usually it would take us about 6 crews with 4 runners and a driver about 7 hours each for each lot of books. Plus a few days of weekday work with 2 runners and a driver.

32c per book (white pages) 34c per book (yellow pages). PM me if you want any more details, you may have missed the boat this year but you could register your interest for next year. WE done 3300 books, roughly $1050, as you can see on here that other clubs have done heaps more.
AF and Roseboy if you do get the Phone books and if its in the coromandel area, If I were you guys I would negotiate a price with them, there are a lot of hills up there and it will be a lot harder for the boys.

You've got to start offering some sort of incentive to all the blokes who do go out year after year and deliver the books. Those that do the books know bloody well who the slackarses are. Perhaps people who can't be arsed putting something could pay one set of fees and those who helped earnt the cash pay a lower set of fees. Perhaps the sponsors could kick in with some sort of benefit somewhere on the line (even if it is a free meal or perhaps a 'bookies only' happy hour one night) so it is more incentive based rather than seen as a punishment.

Not that we have met yet but i can ensure that Bill Bradshaw is provided the info to put on there. The old ASCA website maintained by Dave Billet was fantastic so it would be great if this one could be kept in the same manner.
