Anyone who has been to this would know the apartments opposite Mary Ann Reserve, the big pink building, managed to get one of the apartments in there for the night of the show. Expensive, but won't need to buy tickets or spend money on show price drinks and food, saving us around $500 for the two of us for the day and if it's how we've got aircon to sit in. Pretty happy to have secured it.
Aussie rockers Grinspoon will embark on a national 'Easy Detention' tour beginning late October, celebrating the release of their seminal albums 'Easy' and 'New Detention' on vinyl for the very first time.
Written and recorded between 1998 and 2002, 'Easy' and 'New Detention' represent a tumultuous period of development for Grinspoon heavily influenced by their gruelling North American tour supporting Anthrax.
"Overall, ['Easy' is] very fragmented and it's a very angry little album in many ways about our American experience," frontman Phil Jamieson told us for our June cover interview.
"I probably antagonised more than I entertained the North Americans on that 18-month tour, which was partly because they were dickheads or partly because I was, who knows. So, that was 'Easy' in a nutshell."

Harvest Rock looks good. Would like to see Built for Spill on the Sunday, their album Keep it Like a Secret is one of my faves from the 90s and Carry the Zero from it, is such a brilliant indie rock song.
Whoops, there goes another year. Whoops, there goes another pint of beer.
Enter Crash Course Budgie – The only Australian Budgie Tribute band.
Crash Course Budgie is about honouring the music of Budgie - its authentic as the music was written and played. A full 70min set of Budgie classics that will take you back to the heady days when blues mixed with psychedelic rock ruled the airwaves and filled arena’s around the world.
Crash Course Budgie is performed by Adelaide’s original band Loaded Billy who have garnered a strong reputation for performing Budgie songs within their originals set list. All the members of Loaded Billy have a long history with Budgie’s music going back to the days when they started playing in bands as young lads.
So, drag out those budgie t-shirts (we know you’ve got one) and get along to the Gibson Stage at the Gov for a blistering set of Budgie classics.
Special guest ‘The Wayward Ones’ will be warming up the crowd with a set of classic hard rock covers from the 70’s - 80’s.
Sunday September 03 The Gov | Gibson Stage 4pm | $12.70+BF
