This might be a point in time where action is finally taken, but thats for later, reports of at least 10 dead.

Re: What The F***
More than 4m legal guns in Australia with almost 2000 new ones each week.
Have a couple of mates in gun clubs here in SA and they said memberships have grown by 200-400% since Covid and that the cops are that snowed under with new applications for permits that waiting time is 6-12 weeks.
NSW firearm registry data shows that in Sydney there are more than 70 individuals who own more than 100 firearms, including one person who owns 385 guns. The register notes that this is not a collector or a dealer.

No, I literally cannot imagine that. As I get older, I find myself completely and utterly over religion.bertiebeatle1 wrote:Imagine waking up on a Sunday morning as father & son knowing your day is going to involve you killing innocent ppl & you are highly unlikely to ever see each other again
I was a practicing Catho as a kid/early teen, but then lapsed. With stuff like this, the Yanks weaponising religion at any opportunity, etc. I reckon I'd still be a non-believer if the Big Fella him/herself came down and had a chat.

Very naive to think this won't be a common first thought across the country given the circumstances.RB wrote:This unfolding event is unspeakably evil, but your post is not helpful at this time.another grub wrote:why are we letting so many in?
Can't help but feel we are only going to see an even larger swing to the right side of politics after this.

Re: What The F***
Sajid Akram, 50, and Naveed Akram, 24, can be revealed as the two shooters who targeted a Jewish gathering of roughly 1000 people.
Senior police sources told The Daily Telegraph one of the men had previously been assessed by counter terrorism experts as posing a “low level” threat.
Another source said that person was “quite well known” for their “Islamic fundamentalist” views.
The Akram pair had rented an Airbnb at Campsie in recent days which was raided by NSW Police on Monday, where they found further weapons inside the property.
The older man was known to have a firearms licence and was a holder of six firearms.
NSW Police have since seized six weapons across both the scene at Bondi Beach and also at the Campsie property.
Photos of the younger man’s wallet that circulated on social media also showed a membership card for the Zastava Hunting Association - a gun club in Bonnyrigg, near their home.
NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon had said on Sunday night that police were possibly looking for a third man, but he confirmed on Monday morning that was no longer the case

Re: What The F***
I'm just going throw this out there with facts......not my opinion.
I've been at work in Clare since 6am this morning and never in my life have i heard some of the discussions so openly happening between members regarding the weekend events.........
Now country people arent renowned for being the most inclusive, i dont think thats any secret....
Well the weekend started with a massive explosion on main street to a local 'take away' bar. I was 750m away at the local woolies and my god was it loud, scary and for a split second thought i was much closer than i was and that might have been it for me. The windows at the woolies shook like buggery.
Interestingly only 3 weeks earlier the kitchen at the local Indian restaurant caught on fire from a gas leak burning down the entire kitchen luckily no one was injured. Fast forward 3 weeks and we now have this explosion...................coincidence....well the owners of the two places in question are brother and sister.
Lots of chatter amongst the community only for the events of yesterday to happen in Bondi..........
I'm leaving work early today to work from home because there is only so many times i can say to patrons talking to one another that 'hey thats not really appropriate or hey we don't really say or talk like that these days.
Its a bloody weird feeling right now.
