Scott Madsen is the perfect appointment to coach the Mt Lofty B Grade. He is a very approachable bloke and relates well to the younger players in the side. Loves to have a joke, but also knows when its time to get serious. Only problems I see with Maddog coaching are...
- He has won the Goal Kicking the last couple of years in a row... and possibly the extra responsibilities of the coaching role may reduce the amount of goals he kicks in 2007.
- He does have a temper and doesnt really appreciate incompetance... its a trait that i have seen come when he was my teacher and when he was in my cricket team. Can loose his cool.
However its fair to say Maddog has a far better understanding of the abilities of the players in the Super Bs squad... and the team will be far less one dimensional. The Devils B Grade will be pushing strongly for the 3peat in 07.

ROOS, Handorf thought Trent Ormond Allen would dominate the hills league. He was CRAP. Lobethal thought Sudjai Cook would dominate the hills league. He was CRAP. Both players with AFL experience who were taught football lessons in 2006 by the talent in the HFL.
I'm not saying Gallagher would be crap in the hills. It would depend on his attitude if he was to come up.
From what I saw, I think TOA and SC took the comp way too lightly. HFL Div 1 A's is a tough gig.
I would say good luck to Gallagher as captain of the legs, but Norwood blows - Go you Magpies!
can i just catergorically say that there was absolutley no chance of gags playing anywhere else but Norwood
this year and he'll play there till he cant play anymore. The rumour has to be his cousin by the same name, who is also a gun, played
at Sturt and now for ROCS

the only thing that is holding sinkas back is that he still has a lot of fittnes to gain. i have heard that he is hammering on the training track but still are his legs up to it. has got one of the best kicks and can float across the back flank well.
S matto as coach is a good thing aslong as the senior players dont try to take advantage of him. if he puts his foot down and instils some diciplen early it will be good. the other draw back is that B grade coaches dont have a huge amount of time on the track to part their wisdom. all in all good choice will be different to expectations.

Prime example No1: the Balcony
Prime example No2: mand-handling GTS into is room at his bro's bday and taking advantage of his date hole
keep your feet wrote:i think that you will find that not much would have come from exampel no 2. gts has a coin as loose as a wisards sleave. it would be like throwing a fun size mars bar down rundel mall.
Classic on 2 counts there fellas! Funny stuff.
Didn't know GTS had a brother, but play on.
On the balcony...I'm going to paint my name in a little square in my usual spot, just so everyone knows their place. It will be a LOT quieter up there this year without my partner in crime Stato, but that just means I'll have to bring my A-game. Like you said, a couple of bourbons will be the perfect primer.
I wonder which of the up coming juniors I can take under my wing and mould into a fellow balcony hooligan? Whoever buys me the most bourbons I guess!

ronburgandy wrote:so wat really happened to stato. heard that he was told by the pres that he was no longer required around around the club again? all over a couple snags!
bit harsh seeming his family had a big say in the old lights at the oval
A bit more to it than that.
I don't know enough to comment on it, but there was obviously more behind the scenes that lead to Stato leaving.
It sucks actually, Stato is a champion of a bloke and I rekon he can hold his head high for the way he went about it right to the end without creating a fuss. Top bloke and I hope he comes back to Devil land one day.

Thai Che after a flag....mandatory!
I was primed to compete in the nude olympics at maslins on the weekend in the under 30's nude thai che. Bloody broken leg prevented me from doing enough training to be a contender. That and I couldn't find that old bloke from Heathfield oval to train me up!
Oh well, there's always next year.
