That's great to hear Dutchy.Dutchy wrote:On Friday I had my total knee replacement, just got home after weekend in hospital. Saturday was pretty bad pain wise but got on top of the meds and got the knee moving, now set up at home with walking frame and stick. New best friends seem to be the ice machine, drugs, couch & netflix.
Thanks to Gadj & Kahuna for the advice, been very helpful in setting expectations and hints/tips. Despite the pain the knee already feels much better structurally than before. Doc was happy with the surgery, despite it being one of the worst ones he has seen, couldn't get the screws and staples out from my previous ACL reco but he believes it wont impact me going forward.
I'm assuming he couldn't get that stuff out because the bone had grown over the staples and screws?
Keep up the rehab and enjoy the rest!

Not sure, he said he would try to remove if possible but think it was a bit tricky.
This is who I used - https://ahkc.com.au/doctor/dr-justin-munt/ mate of mine has his knee and hip done with him and my BIL went to school with him, cost a bit more out of pocket but I dont mind that when it comes to piece of mind and health

Ok, so she got a bit lost in the first half of seniors but looked better after halftime. She’s been thrown forward which is extremely different for her as she’s played back her whole life. Got asked to play a second trial in the seniors, kicked 5 pointsSpargo wrote:Proud Dad moment.
Eldest daughter did her knee in Sept 2024. No sport for 12 months, she stayed resilient. Fast forward to the present, she’s had a full pre season for football (as well as taking up surf boat racing). She’s only 15 but has been picked to play senior football in a trial game at Richmond Oval Sunday.
Must’ve shown enough as she’s been selected to make her senior debut in the season opener on Saturday. Mr & Mrs Spargo have been invited into the rooms pre game for guernsey presentation. I’m predicting a rare dust storm which may cause some watery eyes…

That’s brilliant!!
Good luck to Miss Spargo, hope she plays a cracker.
Hope that dust storm doesn’t effect you too much, I hear having a tissue close by can help

I'm not sure if the girl if he picked was really 14 but, if so, seriously bad form
I'm glad I didn't take my 34yo daughter

You pay $50 per goal and $20 best players?

Don't think I've ever paid for goals/best players, but there's a Bradman if anyone takes a proper hanger. Still unclaimed...

Yep, I never offered money as incentive to my kids, you could always tell which kids did though. If my lad had an easy game I'd offer him something if he could get someone to kick a goal who generally wouldn't.wenchbarwer wrote:Mine got a lift home if they put some effort inmighty_tiger_79 wrote:You pay $50 per goal and $20 best players?

Was a pandemic in baseball circles, very easy metrics to measure though.

Yeah, never offed a coin there either. I'm sure parents thought I was a prickBooney wrote:Was a pandemic in baseball circles, very easy metrics to measure though.
Besides, having a kid request Jordan cleats or a new bat isn't anything to be sneezed at, be buggered if I'm paying on top of that!
