If even some of the claims are true then flaggys might be in a bit of trouble.
Even if there is more to the story, racial slurs aren't to be tolerated under any circumstances!

Whilst correct, pointing it out comes across as shirking responsibility and passing the buck.. and makes the apology seem insincere.

Thought these statements were important, and strong messages - and this should've been what was relayed after the game in the change room to the players:

President of the Flagstaff Hill Football Club, Neil Williams, said the club did not condone "racism or vilification in any form" and that it was taking the matter "very seriously."

"The Flagstaff Hill Football Club acknowledges the harm and subsequent hurt that was caused by the incident at Saturday’s football match against Port Noarlunga Football Club, and as such have launched an independent internal investigation into the incident," said the statement.

"While the Flagstaff Hill Football Club rejects racism, racial slurs and racial injustice, we understand that there is always more work to be done to stand up against discrimination both on and off the field."

Well you can control your fans to an extent, especially in a gated oval environment, moreso than we can in the ammos where anyone can walk in from anywhere. This is why our league has match day officials though, to sort out the riff raff..

It will put every club President on notice, to jump on it straight away not run from it.

They should be anyway - shouldn't need to make an example of a side by docking points to get that message across.

Seems a band-aid solution for this, it's easy to just whack them with some point losses or whatever.. but long term, achieves stuff all IMO.

Exactly, it is easy to do that's why it may be an option.
Sends a clear message to supporters....you step out of line and you lose points thus hurting the team you are supposed to be supporting.

It really has to be club penalties and severe. The supporters concerned most certainly should be banned, but the club must have responsibility
