Re: SAAFL Div 1 & 1R (2010)
Thanks for the kind words guys. It really means a lot. I have had a heap of phone calls and emails from other clubs offering their support which has been great and they will all be passed on to the family.
It's at times like this that all on-field team rivalries mean jack, and we all just have to be there to support each other. The support from the football community at large is one of the reasons I love this game. It builds character and passion, both of those Spazz had in spades.
Thanks again.

Re: SAAFL Div 1 & 1R (2010)
It was just horrible to hear about what happened to Benno. This came so suddenly and I dont want to think about what his boys must be like without their Dad around anymore. He played a year up at Gums and was loved by all, even when he moved on he was just one of those blokes you could have a chat to and a beer with.
He'll be sadly missed and on behalf on the Gumeracha Footy Club id like to send our condolences to his friends and family.

RIP Spaz. You will be sorely missed around the club by all. All the best to his family and twins.

Deepest sympathies to the family and TTG Football Club. I played against Benno a number of times when he was in Hills footy and a lovely bloke. Very saddening news.

also what about goodwood saints, anyone retiring/leaving? hopefully half the team so that someone else can win it
Pretty sure Malcolm Pohlner has retired for Goodies haven't heard of others.
Brenton Reidy i've heard can't commit to A grade next year and will settle in the B grade in 2010.
jamie turner at henley will be happy about that

Would like to hope so, heard he may being having a year off. That would confirm that he has left Henley though.

chasing might be a strong word for whats going on there. pollock played a year up at kersbrook with the james boys. when roger got the job at barossa he gave him a call to see what he was doing. im pretty sure roger was the one that got pollock to go down to north so if he was really chasing him why would he do that. i dont know about any one else but if i had a crack at sanfl i wouldn't just do a pre season and leave to go play country footy. he would have to be giving it at least a whole year down there to see if its worth continuing with.

Re: SAAFL Div 1 & 1R (2010)
Sam Fairclough has signed on with Henley. He's 19 and first played League footy for eagles when he was 16. Has played about 40 league games and eagles are shattered that he left. Would have probably played alotta league games and been a gun of the SANFL for a long time. He's decided to go back to Henley to have more fun with his footy and is not worried about money. Costs henley no points as he played his juniors there. Cody hicks and Sam daveron may also be coming as they are all best friends. They've both played league aswell and their juniors at henley so again, no points costing henley.

Apparently some times u make 2-3 times as much in country football per game as u do at sanfl so maybe that is why he is considering it, money talks and also it can be a big commitment o stay at league club for not much reward...

No offence but at SANFL level the bloke couldn't find the football unless it was tied to him, as another poster said he was Ron Fullers love child, and the Eagles will hardly be shattered he has left very average league footballer,
may go alright in Div 1 ammos though.

A bit tough on him I would have thought
It would appear that Div 1 is just getting better and better and beyond some of our clubs

I wouldnt say the bloke was a gun at league level, very good ressie footballer
and has a SANFL premiership medallion, so he must do something right!
Faircolugh will be a very good player, his style of game is more suited to amatuer league then SANFL!
get on board the thunder train!!!

That is a laughable comment WHUFC.
As for Holden we all know he has a gripe with Fairclough and Hicks and will stop at nothing to bag these young kids.
