Making a decision to pull the pin solely on where the restrictions sit right now, when we all know the SANFL have a road map to get community footy back in 2020 and they are fully aware of the main issues being attendence and bar/canteen facilities. Agree that if these restrictions don't get relaxed it makes it difficult to see a season progressing, but I believe there is a good chance these will be lifted and there is still time to sit on the fence and see how things play out before making a big call like this.

Appears a strange extreme decision when everything over the past week has been around the roadmap to the return of football. Suspect more likely other underlying issues and COVID-19 may be the final straw.

I have no idea, I said I suspect there is more to it, I am speculating. Seems strange timing for a decision to pull the pin altogether during the week we are getting the ok to start training.

Surprise surprise Yank are back  there was seriously no reason to make the decision they did, when they did.

No reason, This is a landscape that none have seen before.

I like all want to see footy back BUT it is not that simple and understand all clubs and leagues that make decisions for the whole of the club , remember we are volunteers .

Will I see you Dutchy at the gate with your covid19 plan counting in and out and policing the social distancing measures that are currently in play .

A bit of a "look at me" moment - probably were looking to be the first ones, then realised they were in trouble when the rest of the comp were going to play without them.

Was a pretty ordinary and premature decision which only helped feed the fear and doubt for the rest of the region.

Agree, look I understand the uncertainty was making it very hard for clubs and the community, but the one thing we did have was time so why not use it.

Anyway the best result has occurred and they are back playing, it seems all comps withing 100kms of the city will be fully up and running which is great.

There's been a notable absence of any GSFL chatter over the past couple of months. Hard to know which clubs will be the main premiership contenders and which clubs will struggle to be competitive with the various restrictions in place this season.
Hopefully we see another closely fought comp!
